<MaggieB> janet do you know the url?
<Janet> Nope. I don't know it.
<MaggieB> ok
<MaggieB> hope its done, lol
<MaggieB> poor whit
<MaggieB> she is a good sport huh?
<Janet> yes, I feel bad for her
<Janet> she really is
<MaggieB> janet, i did work up something for the fit it class
<MaggieB> told deb october
<Janet> yay!
<Janet> Excellent!!
keribou perks up her ears- Fit It Class?
<Janet> Char! Kat!
<Janet> Angel!
<kat> Hello All
<MaggieB> yes, but we have to work with the demo version
<MaggieB> phil gave me permission to use that template
<keribou> what is cpt?
<MaggieB> complete
<MaggieB> unlike saturday
<Janet> well, yeah, so people can all do it
<MaggieB> without
<keribou> That's cool Maggie- I have the regular one
<MaggieB> i do too
<Janet> complete? LOL I thought it was (ex)cept
<MaggieB> will work up some samples using the regular cd too
<keribou> cpt= complete- I have already learning something
<MaggieB> but could not give out the templates for those
<Janet> me too
<MaggieB> so i made up a project modifying the demo cd
<MaggieB> that one can do if they want
<Janet> hey Brenda!
<Ida> Is there a URL for pictures?
<MaggieB> and i will try to do a page of samples on the rest
<brendab> hey janet
<Janet> still waiting for Whitney
<Janet> and I'm calling and nobody is answering
<brendab> good then
<keribou> Sounds really cool Maggie
<brendab> i am bouncing bad
<Ida> Maybe she is in the rubberclassroom too
<brendab> i did my first cigar box today
<Janet> Brenda, Maggie is talking about being ready for a fit it class in october
<brendab> my daughter had a fit
<brendab> she never likes my studd
<brendab> oh good then
<Janet> wow, so your daughter liked it?
<lory> studd? wanna share bren?
<brendab> hey raven
<brendab> yes she did
<Janet> LOL Lory
<Janet> Sparkle!
<sparkle> herro
<enchy> ty
<enchy> herro
<Janet> howdy, Enchyroodle!
<enchy> herro janeto
<enchy> what are we gonna learn today?
<Janet> I wonder about Whitney, it isn't like her to be late.
<Janet> Should be Whitney's boxes, but where's Whit?
<RaveNuts> no teacher? Maybe she has my ISP
<Janet> I even called and no answer.
<cak> I hope she's OK
<Janet> LOL she's got one close, she's had fits with hers the last month
<lory> hey ench
<Janet> me too
<lory> hey sparkle
<enchy> hey loryo
<enchy> i hope she is okay
<cak> (you may be teaching part 2 of watercolor Janet)
<enchy> she has had more than her share of crap
<Janet> Did anybody play watercolors yet?
<Janet> she definitely has.
<keribou> Janet I did today
<Janet> I didn't finish my box though. But it's ready to be painted.
<keribou> I totally ignored your advice- played with cheap CS and it buckled
<enchy> lol
<Ida> Sorry I missed your class last night Janet
<Janet> LOL but you gotta use what you got on hand
<cak> A good way to learn keribou--and buckled cs might come in handy sometime
<keribou> But I was playing- I got a box of 50 wedding invited plus envys plus response cards plus those envy's for $2.25 at Office Depot
<Janet> It was fun, ida. It was just about paper and a couple backgrounds. Doing washes
<Janet> Those should work for painting what we're doing tomorrow.
<brendab> ty cak
<Ida> I'll be there next go round!@
<Janet> woo hoo!
<keribou> I was playing- I SOAKED the CS - so I knew what would happen
<Char> but you gotta use what you got on hand--A good class..Make Do With What You've Got! Really, I'm serious
<Janet> And I want a class on how you do your flowers, too.
<Ida> I am working on it!
<Janet> I wonder what would happen if, as it's almost dry but not completely dry, if you ironed it?
<keribou> Iron? What is an iron? oh thing I use to make tuissue paper envys
<Char> We've discussed that.....not sure I can pin it down. It always seems like luck to me.
<Janet> yes, one of those paper making tools <keribou> I alos got a set of watercolor pencils for 22 cents so I was
playing with them and a damp brush
<Janet> I've always wondered how those work
<cak> How did they work keribou
<cak> ?
<Janet> (and where did you get a set for 22 cents?)
<Ida> Could Whitney be in the rubberclassroom?
<cak> (that's an even better question)
<Janet> let me go look, Ida
<keribou> Office Depot- 1 was missing but for 22 cents I figured it was
ok
<Janet> nope, nobody's in there.
<Janet> wow, what a deal
<keribou> Honestly- I have some good pencils and they work well with
the brush these didn't but the CS I used was eh
<cak> As long as it isn't red, blue or yellow--you can make so for 22
cents
<keribou> Not sure what color it was- the main ones are in there
<Ida> Just wondered, thats where Angel, Char and myself went the first
time.r
<keribou> Good for travel- if my suitcase gets lost I won't cry
<cak> so did you color then brush or brush from directly from the crayon?
<brendab> janet can you make sure she hasnt mispelled the room
<keribou> I scribbled then brushed with damp brush
<keribou> then the other time I scribbled then misted the CS
<Janet> Brenda, I'm sorta worried, I call her house and there's no answer.
<keribou> that worked better
<Janet> wonder if you scribbled on another scrap piece of paper, would
that work as a palette?
<keribou> that might work better
<cak> Isn't that how they make those watercolor travel kits?
<keribou> I want one of those
<Char> Shouldwe all invite ourselves to Cyberstampers for RC and Moon
Pies....whatever that discussion is?
<Janet> I have seen those, like a palette but a flat piece of paper
<MaggieB> i wonder what happened to whit?
<sparkle> ROFl..I'm over there yelling at messy people <Janet> I don't know, I'm worried.
<MaggieB> me too
<MaggieB> not like her
<brendab> me too janet
<brendab> thius isnt like whit
<cak> why go over there sparkle, there are plenty of messies here
<MaggieB> esp after saturday
Janet brings the moon pies over for us
<MaggieB> not like she would forget in a couple days
<scout> Could it be that she got mixed up on the nites?
<Angel> could be..
<Janet> that could be, although she asked for Tuesday so we mixed around
the nights
<MaggieB> or she is yelling at her computer or ISP?
<Angel> could be also!LOL
<Ida> That's a possibility
<brendab> she could be having computer problems again
<cak> I hope it's as innocuous as that!
<Janet> Anyway, let's learn while we're waiting. I wanna know how Brenda
made the box her daughter likes.
<Angel> Iwant a big moon pie..sounds good!
<Char> Could we take a peek at the pictures if we all swear to return
to the class WHENEVER it is?
<scout> Since my hubby retired, there are days when I don't even know
what day it is!
Janet passes Angel a big slightly stale moon pie
<brendab> i painted it with black gesso
<Janet> (moon pies are best when they are slightly stale)
<brendab> then sponged ready tex paints on it
<cak> brenda, was this a paper or wooden box?
<Janet> ready tex is acrylic like?
<Char> Am I deprived or what? I don't even know what a moon pie is!
<brendab> then collaged some old fashioned roses gift wrap paper on
<Angel> thanx Janet!
<brendab> then an angel and a poem about angels
<Janet> Char, you are deprived!
<Janet> (I, on the other hand, am depraved)
<Janet> oh wow, Brenda. I wanna see it now.
<cak> Ooooo, sounds beautiful (and I wanna see too)
<brendab> then i put two of those round stones that you can stamp an
image and glue to the stone to see it
<Angel> me too!Janet!
<brendab> on the box
<Janet> Moon pies are food of the gods.
<brendab> then a black stone earring with fake diamonds around the outside
of it
<enchy> poison
<Janet> Oh those like you made pendants out of
<Char> This mortal wants to know more.
<Angel> yupp... would kill for one right now!
<brendab> and then a feather and some of that textured wall paper in
a leaf shape painted black and sponged with gold
<Janet> They are like a sandwich, with marshmallow on the inside and
coated with chocolate-like substance
<Angel> like the sound of that box too..sounds nice!
<cak> Now the stones/earring would be a lovely finishing touch--you sure
don't see those every day (and you handle them beautifully)
<Janet> where did you put the earring?
<scout> In the moon pie
<Janet> LOL
<Char> Janet....can you do the fauxWhitney thing? I'm in danger her of
eating sponged gold wall paper with fake diamonds and stamped stones and embossing
a moon pie!
<Angel> have fun guys...iam tired.. aim going to turn in...
<Janet> LOL
<Janet> take care, Angel. Enjoy the moon pie. :)
<kat> lol
<cak> night angel! sorry you couldn't stay longer
<Angel> sorry..just cant stay awke..
<cak> (don't break a tooth on the earring)
<Janet> take a nap tomorrow, Angel. Watercolor tomorrow
<Janet> LOL
<Angel> thanx again Janet, you are all so sweet!
<Janet> And today I played with how Ida did those wonderful ones at the
gg designs store and even mine turned out cool!
<Angel> I will.. i do want to do that class..
<Janet> (not as cool as Ida's but I'm gonna practice it more)
<cak> wait! wait! How did Ida do the gg designs?
<Ida> It's all in the blending
<Char> I've been trying to talk Ida into volunteering to do a special
class on that technique, since she's got it nailed!
<Janet> I was supposed to be making samples for tomorrow's class, but
the stamp on top was a solid reverse type one and the Ida technique was what
to do, rather than watercoloring.
<Janet> I can't wait for that. This was fun.
<Janet> And then I tried Brenda's technique with alcohol and that was
cool, too.
<MaggieB> whoops there goes brenda again!
<Ida> I'll call Charlotte tomorrow and see what we can figure out
<Janet> Then I watercolored a buttwipe. :)
<MaggieB> she is ALWAYS doing that!
<keribou> ok- I'm going to go stamp
<keribou> goodnight all!
<MaggieB> nite
<cak> night keribou
<Janet> take care, Heather.
<kat> what is brendas technique with alcohol
<Janet> It's sort of like Ida's where you marker up the stamp
<cak> (thanks kat, I wanted to know too)
<Janet> then Brenda spritzes it with rubbing alcohol and stamps it
<Janet> and it looked way different, sort of speckled mottled really
neat
<kat> does the alcohol damage the stamp
<Janet> I hope not. <Janet> I didn't know so I washed it off immediately
<Janet> (unlike usual where I wash them right before I need them again)
<Janet> (we're talking months with ink on 'em)
<kat> I know what you mean
<Janet> Linda!
<kat> i'm getting better
<paperpushe> Hi kids
<Char> I love looking at Ida's ..... half the time I can't figure out
which stamp she used > )
<Char> The way it should be.
<Janet> those are so beautiful
<brendab> janet i am sending you a scan of the box
<cak> Are they posted some place?
<Janet> yay!
<Janet> and then we can all see it
<Ida> The solid or bold stamps work best.
<Janet> I don't have a scan of what I've done on mine so far. But I was
thinking using buttwipes on it, instead I did polymer clay on it and stamped
into that
<Janet> so it (I HOPE) will look like carved when I'm done
<paperpushe> well, I guess I know I'm in the right place if Janet is
talking about buttwipes LOL
<Char> Any chance we could get a page of scans of ALL the boxes that
were started in that class....particularly since there weren't any pictures
to "copy."
<Janet> LOL
<Janet> We sure could.
<Ida> Can you make an impression in polymer and then ink it...like a
reverse image?
<Janet> Everybody. Make a box! and send me a scan. and I'll make a page
<Janet> I don't see why not, ida.
<brendab> ok janet it just finished going out
<Janet> there are a couple images I'd love to watercolor but I need ones
where the ink is around the image instead of being the image, if that makes
sense
<Janet> Got it!
<cak> not enough open space?
<Ida> Did the shelf liner and leaf but that is as far as I got
<Janet> Let me go put Brenda's scan on a page for us to look at
<Janet> how did that turn out, Ida?
<Ida> An outline stamp?
<brendab> take a look at it first janet
<Char> Sounds like flirting with monoprint technique....could you stamp
the image on rubber gasket material and paint arount the image and stamp it?
<Ida> Pretty good
<brendab> it may not be worth the trouble
<cak> I know it will be brenda (unless you got a bad scan)
<brendab> what i like someone else may not
<brendab> tho cak
<brendab> it is strange for my daughter to like anything i do
<MaggieB> brenda you are always too hard on yourself!
<cak> Then you're just broadening our horizons
<MaggieB> we LOVE your stuff!
<brendab> ty maggie
<Ida> Char, what happened to your Morning Glories? Can't find them
<brendab> it is so nice to be encouraged
<cak> (if she's between 15 and 30 years old, she won't like the same
thing!)
<brendab> wb kat
<Char> They are still at the printers...he promised a delivery this week
some time.....
<brendab> she is 27
<Char> When I put the regular mall page back up they will be there.
<Janet> http://www.cyberstampers.com/class/ggdesigns/brendabox.jpg
<Janet> It's BEAUTIFUL!
<cak> (you got a ways to go then--)
<cak> thank you Janet and brenda too!
<Char> Oh GOSH yes!
<brendab> ty janet
<MaggieB> cool brenda!
<brendab> ty char
<brendab> i am happy with my first one
<paperpushe> brenda, that's inspired!!!
<brendab> ty maggie
<brendab> ty paprer
<Janet> it's beautiful!
<paperpushe> gorgeous
<cak> Wonderfully Victorian brenda! (I love all that detail)
<brendab> it was so much easier to do
<MaggieB> you have been working on your collage!
<lory> purdy brenda
<brendab> i have figured out how to teach a collage class for biginners
<MaggieB> definitely not a pic with a frame anymore!
<brendab> ty
<paperpushe> the jewel really sets it off, bren
<Janet> I love the earring on there, and those glass pieces.
<brendab> i have learned a secret
<scout> Wow, lotsa pretty work...
<cak> Make sure you let me know when you teach it brenda
<brendab> will do cak
<brendab> am going to do it during convention
<Janet> I need that class!
<paperpushe> me, too
<cak> Yay! (but I don't want to wait)
<brendab> well this little secret really makes collage easy for me now
<MaggieB> secret?
<kat> i'm back again
<MaggieB> geez, why the heck did i sit in all those classes??? LOL!!
<kat> beautiful job brenda
<MaggieB> wb kat
<brendab> ty kat
<Janet> let's shake her upside down for the secret to fall out. <Janet> (can I wait until end of October? I'll try. <cak> I'll get a leg!
<brendab> lol
<Janet> I'll get the other leg
<Char> Wouldn't that be a great bonus for those of us still here waiting?
<paperpushe> I"m shaking
<Janet> (the worst we can do is get change to go buy more moon pies)
<cak> lol
<brendab> roflol
<cak> (a no-lose proposition for sure)
<Janet> Oh!
<cak> Oh?
<Janet> I have a Discovery (capital D) to share!
<brendab> what?????????
<cak> What!!!???
<Char> Yes?
<paperpushe> spill it Janet!
<Janet> Yeah, I've always loved making suncatchers with these stamps.
And I Discovered (cap D) an easier way.
<cak> (brenda--grab a leg)
paperpusher wants a chance to shake Janet
<Janet> My old way was to stamp and emboss first on the cling vinyl,
and that was the hardest part for me.
<Janet> I'm not a good stamper at the best of times, stamping on something
slicky is hard!
<brendab> emboss on cling vinyl?
<Janet> but I was trying stamping with those Lumiere paints for my samples
(yeah, that was the other tricky part, if I got it too hot I melted holes in
it)
<Janet> and the vinyl stamps good with those Lumiere/acrylic paints!
<Janet> So no more heat embossing for me.
<Janet> I think these are more delicate, this stuff i bet would chip
off if I rubbed on it
<cak> cool
<Janet> but on a window? nobody is likely to scratch on it
<sparkle> have you tried stamping with the 213 or Decor It paints janet?
<Janet> Yep, I've done that and those are good too.
<Janet> but this way I got silver and gold. :)
<brenda> can you emboss on cling vinyl?
<enchy> there is silver and gold 213
<sparkle> lol..they come in metallics too silly
<Janet> then filled in with the glass paints (the ones from the walmart)
<sparkle> you need more
<sparkle> stufffs
<Janet> There is????
<Janet> I NEED them!!
<enchy> i have it right here
<sparkle> yes you do sparkle has 'em
<enchy> for on black shrink plasteeek
<brenda> wow
<brenda> i need that too
<Janet> Okay! everybody! party at Sparkle's house to play with her stuff
(then when we got hers used up we'll head north to Enchy's house)
<MaggieB> sounds good to me!
<enchy> roflol
<brenda> lol
<cak> me too
<MaggieB> put the coffee pot on sparkle!
<Janet> and we can stop on the way to steal, uh, I mean borrow, yeah,
borrow, all the gg stamps we don't have yet.
<enchy> you guys find it - you can play with it
<sparkle> lol
<enchy> i let sparkle open new stamp pads at my house when she found
them
<enchy> huh honey?
<sparkle> yep
<enchy> roflol
<sparkle> enchy lets me do almost anything I want at her house
<sparkle> <enchy> just about
<Janet> Sounds like my house. I might have that what you were talking
about and just losted it in my house.
<MaggieB> just about huh?
<enchy> just about
<enchy> roflol
<Janet> OH. Then let's go to Enchy's house first!
