<mellowbren> http://www.cyberstampers.com/class/boo/

<mellowbren> ARE WE READY TO BEGIN?????

<mellowbren> K

<deb-talent> yep

<mellowbren> I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED CAUSE THESE ARE CUTE

<deb-talent> why?

<mellowbren> AND I HAVENT DONE ANY CUTE IN A LONG TIME

<deb-talent> sometimes we need cute

<mellowbren> BUT THIS WAS FUN FUN FUN

<RubberRabb> halloween is always a bit cute

<cak-afk> and the techniques can be used for anything!

<RubberRabb> so how in the world did you do these?

<mellowbren> THE TOP CARD IS REALLY A BIG GOOF UP THAT TURNED OUT SPOOKY

<deb-talent> lol

RubberRabbit hands around a little halloween candy

<mellowbren> I USED BLANCO WHITE INK ON BLACK PLASTISHEEN

<mellowbren> AND IT WOULDNT DRY

<deb-talent> it looks so cool like t hat

<RubberRabb> I thought Blanco was supposed to dry on everything?

<deb-talent> http://www.cyberstampers.com/class/boo/

<mellowbren> SO I USED WGITE GLUE WITH A LITTLE WATER AND A SPONGE BRUSH AND PAINTED OVER IT

<Janet> and that worked?

<katw> hi Lory

<mellowbren> AND IT SET IT ALL WHILE SMEARING IT A LITTLE

<cak-afk> I'm sorry to be so ignorant--but what's plastisheen?

RubberRabbit hops into Mom's lap and gives her a hug

<Lory> hey

<mellowbren> GAVE IT THAT GHOSTLY APPEARANCE

<cak-afk> very misty/spooky!

<mellowbren> IT IS A PLASTIC CARDSTOCK IS ABOUT ALL I KNOW ABOUT IT

<mellowbren> THEY DIDNT HAVE BLACK GLOSSY

<RubberRabb> isn't it sort of like Black Kromecoat?

<cak-afk> OK--that's more than I knew before

<mellowbren> MAYBE rr

<RubberRabb> Blanco white dries on glossy black but only after a looong time

<katw> Can it be heat set

<mellowbren> THIS SAT FOR TWO DAYS AND STILL DIDNT DRY

<RubberRabb> well, if you heat set black glossy, it dulls it a bit

<mellowbren> WELL THE PLASTIC COATING DID WORK WHEN I APPLIED HEAT

<mellowbren> DIDNT WORK

<katw> Love the effect

<mellowbren> SORRY

<mellowbren> I DID TOO KAT

<HolierThan> Brenda, very neat!

<RubberRabb> so what were the proportions of water to white glue?

<mellowbren> I NEED TO MENTION ALL THESE IMAGES ARE GG DESIGNS

<mellowbren> I JUST PUT 2/3 GLUE TO 1/3 WATER

<RubberRabb> thanks

<mellowbren> BUT DONT SOP THE GLUE ON

<mellowbren> JUST WRING THE SPNGE A LITTLE

<mellowbren> YW

<cak-afk> I could see using this to make backgrounds too--intentionally smearing inks

<mellowbren> THE OTHER TWO CARDS IS SUPER SPARKLE LUMINEIRES

<mellowbren> AND I LOVED THIS TOO

<Janet> how did you stamp with that?

<mellowbren> IT IS REALLY SHINY ON THE PLASTISHEEN

<mellowbren> I PUT SOME ON A NEW FOAM STAMP PAD

<mellowbren> I HAD TO FILL A FEW PLACES WITH A PAINT BRUSH

<RubberRabb> ?? lumineires? do you mean Lumiere paint?

<mellowbren> YES RR

<RubberRabb> ah--I thought I'd missed yet another cool new product! LOL

<mellowbren> THESE WERE VERY QUICK AND EASY CARDS

<neetzl> Why didn't you paint it directly on the stamp?

<HolierThan> Brenda, do you know WHERE we can get lumieres? <G>

HolierThanThou does product plug for fun

<Janet> I do! I do!

<Janet> LOL

<mellowbren> AND CAN BE TURNED OUT FAIRLY QUICKLY EXCEPT FOR DRYING TIME

<RubberRabb> so do I but my mind is blank

<mellowbren> JHONE

<RubberRabb> that's IT

<HolierThan> Best prices around are at WACKY WAGON in the mall †

<HolierThan> and jhone too

<deb-talent> http://www.cyberstampers.com/class/boo/

<mellowbren> WB DEB

<deb-talent> whew

<deb-talent> lol

<deb-talent> thanks

<Keribou> I got lumieres from Jhone this week WONDERFUL apint- I LOVe THEM!

<RubberRabb> the two places I have to stay away from..

<RubberRabb> too many good things

<HolierThan> lol

<Janet> Oh yeah! do you like the colors you picked?

<mellowbren> LUMINEIRES ARE SO MUCH FUN

<RubberRabb> I have the fall colors of Lumiere paints> russet, olive, golds--they're great sponged onto leaf stamps

<Janet> oooo I bet

<mellowbren> NOW THE PINS CAN BE MAGNETS ALSO

<RubberRabb> and they're esp wonderful on fabric

<Janet> or on cork

<mellowbren> HAVENT TRIED FABRICS YET

<mellowbren> OR CORK

<RubberRabb> how about doing those lumiere stamps on black tee shirts for halloween?

<Janet> I did! I painted my own red white and blue ribbons last week, cuz my store was out.

<mellowbren> I USED OLD BROWN PAPER BAGS TO STAMP THE BAG STAMP

<mellowbren> THAT WOULD BE GREAT RR

<mellowbren> ESPECIALLY SINCE MOST OF GG DESIGNS IMAGES ARE BOLD

<Janet> grocery bags. DUH. I wondered how you got that marvelous color

<RubberRabb> You'd do the same thing as stamping on your cards, just put it on a pre-washed shirt instead!

<mellowbren> YEP

<deb-talent> leave it to brenda to figure out the best!!!

<RubberRabb> I love the bags--great idea, brenda

<mellowbren> AND USED RANGERS COFFEE DYE INK

<RubberRabb> (I thought you'd just brought in a graphic, she said, slapping her forehead)

<deb-talent> lol

<deb-talent> (I did too)

<mellowbren> I JUST CUT AND LAYERED ONE OVER THE OTHER

<mellowbren> THEN PUT CONFETTI ON THE END OF WIRE

<mellowbren> AND GLUED IT ON

<deb-talent> love it

<RubberRabb> excellent! they'd be nice earrings too

<mellowbren> I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS ONE

<mellowbren> IT WAS FAST AND EASY

<RubberRabb> (to go with your halloween shirt)

<deb-talent> oh yes

<mellowbren> THESE ARE GOING TO BE MY CONVETION PINS

<Janet> OH YEAH. Earrings!!!

<RubberRabb> I may have to try this on brown paper for my faux postage

<mellowbren> YES RR

<Janet> I know where you can get cheap earwires<g>

<deb-talent> lol

<RubberRabb> haven't thought of doing postage on brown paper

<mellowbren> SO YOU DID GET AN IDEA RR YIPPEE

<deb-talent> hmm janet

<deb-talent> where would that be

<RubberRabb> trick or treat on brown paper

<Janet> LOL even ones with a copper wrap on the surgical steel, would match the grocery bag

<RubberRabb> now what would I need for a postage amount?

<mellowbren> IT MAKES SOME OF THEM REAL OLD LOOKING TOO

<RubberRabb> 31 candy corn?

<mellowbren> OR A WITCH

<mellowbren> WITH AN AMOUNT

<katw> I stamp gingerbread men at Christmas on Brown paper bags with white embossing. So easy!!!

<Janet> with broom mail on it?

<RubberRabb> a witch would be good--I have a tiny witch stamp from Halos

<Janet> or just air mail?

<mellowbren> YES

<RubberRabb> hag mail!

<Janet> ooo gingerbread men. another idea!

<mellowbren> OH NEAT

<RubberRabb> or white skeletons on brown paper

<mellowbren> I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAVE ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH GG DESIGNS STAMP

<katw> great idea rr

Janet knows the answer to "paper or plastic?" now!

<mellowbren> OH YES

<RubberRabb> and sixteen men on a dead man's chest

<RubberRabb> LOL

<mellowbren> OR JANET

<katw> hi magenta

<mellowbren> THE BROWN PACKING PAPER FROM OFFICE SUPPLY STORE

<RubberRabb> I have a whole roll of it (just right for faux postage)

<RubberRabb> since I need to make 21 sheets of it

<mellowbren> ANNO WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE THE IDEA TO USE BROWN BAG

<deb-talent> wow

<RubberRabb> I still like the witches--how about a nice circle painted behind her in gold lumiere

<mellowbren> THEN STAMP BLACK?????/

<katw> RR you are full of great ideas tonite

<RubberRabb> yep

<mellowbren> LIGHT SHE IS IN THE MOON???????/

<RubberRabb> black in front of the moom

<mellowbren> OR FLYING ACROSS

<RubberRabb> moon, that is

<RubberRabb> could have a white skeleton in front of it, too for a different look

<mellowbren> YEP

<Janet> or a couple dancing skeletons

<katw> love the dancing skeletons

<mellowbren> GOLD LUMINEIRES IS REAL GOOD TO STAMP OVER TOO

<RubberRabb> like the clearsnap rollagraph of dancing skeletons

<RubberRabb> Lumieres are just flat wonderful stuff all the way around

<mellowbren> THEY HAVE A ROLLAGRAPH SKELETON?????????

<mellowbren> YES THEY ARE RR

<RubberRabb> I have one

<RubberRabb> I don't know if they still make it or not

<mellowbren> OH I NEED TO GO SEE IF I CAN FIND ONE

<katw> are you using the inks or the new paints

<RubberRabb> dancing skeletons

<cak-afk> Are the Lumieres water-thinnable?

<RubberRabb> yes they are cak

<mellowbren> CAK I HAVE USED THEM THINNED

<mellowbren> WITH WATER

<RubberRabb> you can use them as a wash on fabric, too

<deb-talent> brenda - tell me again what kind of ink you used on these?

<mellowbren> YOU CAN ALSO USE AN EXTENDER I THINK OR FLOAT????/

<cak-afk> (yay! thanks--I was just thinking of doing a background with the smearing and thinking that maybe one couldn't stamp over the glue/water finish)

<katw> Hi amy

<deb-talent> http://www.cyberstampers.com/class/boo/

<mellowbren> THE LAST TWO ARE SUPER SPARKLE LUMINEIRES PAINT

<AmyLPR> hi

<RubberRabb> yes, you can use an extender for fabrics, too

<mellowbren> THE FIRST WAS BLANCO WHITE DYE

<deb-talent> wow that's what I th ought you said

<deb-talent> can't wait to try this

<cak-afk> oops--I guess I should ask if the Blanco is water-soluble too

<mellowbren> IT WAS FUN

<RubberRabb> I have found that Brilliance Moonlight white is a denser white ink, in case you want to try it

<mellowbren> THE BLANCO WILL RUN SINCE IT IS DYE

<RubberRabb> and it WILL dry on plastics if left overnight or heat set

<deb-talent> how about fresco?

<mellowbren> WHO MAKES IT RR?

<deb-talent> will it dry?

<RubberRabb> Tsukineko

<mellowbren> OK WILL LOOK FOR IT

<deb-talent> I just bought a (what I thought was white but it's not) Fresco Chalk Finish Dye Ink Pad

<RubberRabb> Fresco also needs to be heat set on glossy

<mellowbren> DID YA LIKE THE FRESCO DEB?????/

<deb-talent> you mean I was supposed to open it??

<mellowbren> LOL

<katw> lol

<deb-talent> lol

<RubberRabb> if you do it direct from the pad, you'll get a denser coverage, but the chalky look is more plaster-y than pure white

<deb-talent> it's still shrink wrapped

<deb-talent> till someone told me what to do with it

<deb-talent> and our Fresco class was postponed

<RubberRabb> use it direct to paper on darker papers

<RubberRabb> (the fresco, that is)

<deb-talent> this color says "Medici Marble"

<mellowbren> WHAT KIND OF PAPER RR

<deb-talent> kinda looks like a dirty white

<RubberRabb> matte papers--like a nice black cardstock

<RubberRabb> it's meant to look like plaster

<RubberRabb> thus 'fresco'

<cak-afk> (just think of it as an "interesting" white, deb)

<mellowbren> OK WILL HAVE TO TRY THAT

<deb-talent> lol

<RubberRabb> I don't stamp with it, I use it for background effects

<deb-talent> kinda like my "white" socks

<RubberRabb> swash them over cardstock, let them dry (or heat set them to faster dry)

<katw> what kind of background effects rr

<RubberRabb> then stamp OVER them

<cak-afk> (yep! you got the idea)

<RubberRabb> so you can swipe them across the cardstock like you're plastering a wall

<mellowbren> WELL THIS WAS A SHORT CLASS

<mellowbren> ANY QUESTIONS????????

<cak-afk> pretty darn good discussion already though

<mellowbren> I AM GOING TO HAVE TRY THAT RR

<scout> what's next week?

<katw> Great class. We loved you samples.

<RubberRabb> I also used Fresco on shrink plastic

<AmyLPR> i use my frsco chalk ppad for shadow stamping

<mellowbren> I HAVENTBEEN REAL HAPPY WITH THE FRESCO

<RubberRabb> and it comes out gorgeous

<katw> that sounds interesting rr

<mellowbren> SO MAYBE THIS WILL MAKE ME HAPPY WITH THEM

<RubberRabb> because the color gets denser as the plastic shrinks

<katw> ooo

<mellowbren> OH NEAT IDEA

<RubberRabb> my samples on 100 proof press's website were done with Frescos

<mellowbren> WILL HAVE TO CHECK THAT OUT

<RubberRabb> and Brilliance pads and Memories inks

<RubberRabb> only a little while left--they come down 1 September

<RubberRabb> er, October

<mellowbren> K

<katw> I thought that's what you meant

<RubberRabb> one of the samples is what I've donated to the auction> paper tole done with velveteen paper

<Janet> the rabbits were?

<mellowbren> OH NEAT

<Janet> I love those.

<RubberRabb> yes

<AmyLPR> cool

<RubberRabb> the velveteen paper was white--I colored each part

<mellowbren> I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT TRYING PAPER TOLE BUT AM NOT SURE I UNDERSTAND IT

<RubberRabb> and shaded it so the rabbits are brown and grey and white but their clothing is burgundy and blue

<RubberRabb> best instructions for paper tole were in August RSM--I wrote it! LOL

<mellowbren> THIS LAST MONTH??????/

<mellowbren> I MISSED THAT ONE

<RubberRabb> July-August, yes

<mellowbren> RATS

<mellowbren> OH MAYBE I HAVE THAT THEN

<mellowbren> JANICE???????/

<RubberRabb> just look for Janice Bryant in the index

<RubberRabb> yep

<mellowbren> RIGHT I SAW THAT

<RubberRabb> that's the bunny

<RubberRabb> paper tole is easy

<mellowbren> I GOT THAT ONE THEN

<RubberRabb> fiddly but easy

<mellowbren> JUST FOR THAT ARTICLE TOO

<deb-talent> sounds like we need a class

<mellowbren> WE DOOOOOOOOOOO

<RubberRabb> and a great way to use up things you don't stamp well..

<mellowbren> I WAS FASCINATED WITH IT

<RubberRabb> I don't mind teaching it

<deb-talent> yeah

<Janet> Oh yes!

<RubberRabb> but I can't say when

<mellowbren> SIGN HER UP DEB

<deb-talent> ok rr

<deb-talent> I'll keep you on my list to contact soon

<deb-talent> ok?

<mellowbren> YIPPEE

<RubberRabb> sure

<HolierThan> is it that time already? wow

<HolierThan> tha'ts quick

<deb-talent> cool

<RubberRabb> I can tell you though, if you have the article, just follow directions!

<deb-talent> I made myself a note

<deb-talent> I know - but some people don't get the mag

<deb-talent> and it would make for a nice discussion here

<mellowbren> WILL TRY THAT

<RubberRabb> true

<Janet> But I need an hour set aside for my questions, RR

<RubberRabb> LOL

<deb-talent> lol

<RubberRabb> ok, ok

<mellowbren> LOL

<RubberRabb> just tell me what weekend you want after Kansas and we'll work it out

<mellowbren> JANET ALWAYS HAS LOTS OF QUESTIONS

<deb-talent> what weekend is that?

<RubberRabb> right now I'm doing leather masks

<scout> Falling asleep here, up since 6 and walked all day. Hope everyone who is sick gets well really quick.

deb-talented is looking at the calendar

<RubberRabb> Kansas convention is Oct 13

<Janet> Can I tell about my bestest Halloween card?

<mellowbren> YES JANET

<RubberRabb> yes please Janet

<deb-talent> ok - there is one weekend between KS and Cyberstamper Convention

<Janet> Oh good. It was a masterpiece.

<mellowbren> CAQN I TAKE CAPS OFF????/

<deb-talent> yes janet

<deb-talent> thanks brenda

<RubberRabb> yes brenda

<scout> hurry, Janet...

<Janet> No, Brenda. You're still in charge<g>

<Janet> okay okay!

<mellowbren> whew thanks

RubberRabbit helps brenda take her cap off

<Janet> I stamped a scary door stamp, forgot who makes it...

<mellowbren> ty rr

Janet takes her pants off

<deb-talent> rTMI

<Janet> and then cut it so the door opened...

RubberRabbit looks in the other direction

<RubberRabb> you scared Amy away!

<mellowbren> lol

<Janet> and then put acetate on the back side so the door had a clear innard and before I glued that on I stamped cobwebs on it in the corners...

<RubberRabb> Third Coast doorway?

RubberRabbit smiles ok at deb

<mellowbren> oh sounds neat

<deb-talent> k

<Janet> and embossed those with hologram type EP (yeah, that's the one!) oh and the ink was just embossing ink, no color

<Janet> and on the inside of the card I had Elvis singing the trick or treat song

<mellowbren> i cant find the embossable type acetate here

<Janet> and Nixon rising up outta his coffin

<deb-talent> LOL

<mellowbren> lol

<katw> rofl

<deb-talent> oh you HAVE to scan that janet

<cak-afk> LOL!

<RubberRabb> verrry scary Janet!

<Janet> oh and made sure I put blue suede shoes on Elvis

<deb-talent> with the door closed and with it open

<mellowbren> roflol

<Janet> Brenda, I just buy the transparencies at the office supply store for laser printers

<Janet> lots cheaper

<mellowbren> i cant find for laser

<mellowbren> just the other acetate

<Janet> get them for copiers then

<mellowbren> that warps when heated

<Janet> for copiers is good

<mellowbren> copiers ok

<Janet> be more careful with the gun, keep it moving

<Janet> but cobwebs stamped on that and then put in the door opening, that just looked so cool

<mellowbren> i bet it did

<Janet> that was my best card

<deb-talent> you are so creative

<mellowbren> and fun too

<mellowbren> yes janet is very talented

<Janet> my second best card was stamping nixon's face on black cardstock with the white ink, because it didn't cover so good and he looked real ghostly

<katw> sounds really scary!!!!

<mellowbren> lol

<deb-talent> he did in person too

<katw> lol

<RubberRabb> Nixon was always pretty scary

<deb-talent> I thought so too

<Janet> he was saying to vote for Bob Dole

<katw> you got that right

<RubberRabb> do they have Agnew stamps, too?

<RubberRabb> he was scary, too

<deb-talent> lol

<mellowbren> lol

<Janet> he was very scary<g>

<mellowbren> redcastle has a bunch of president stamps

<mellowbren> but dont know who they all are
