<Redstick> Terra cotta Sculpey inna BIG size..

<brenda> IT IS TOO PRECIOUS TO USE

<RubberRabb> oh I do, brenda

<brenda> ME TOO

<RubberRabb> it has it's own cubbyhole

<Redstick> what's neat about it is that you can stamp into it, then decorate a terra cotta flower pot!

<brenda> AT WALMART???????

<Redstick> I think I might do a class later after I make some goodies :)

<brenda> WILL HAVE TO GO CHECK IT OUT THEN

<brenda> OH NEATO RED

<RubberRabb> I used my 50% coupon to replace my ott lightbulb for only $35

<Raven> I love terra-cotta

<brenda> JUST LET ME KNOW

<RubberRabb> excuse me $15

<LiBsTeR> I have been stamping on paper, then cutting it out to use for teabag folding

LiBsTeR hugs Deb

<paperpushe> hey deb

<deb-AFK> hi ya

<RubberRabb> I use origami paper for teabag folding paper

<katw> i needed a chinese coin and didn't have one, so i painted a washer and stamped it.

<brenda> IS TO GET OLD METAL CHARMS,BUTTONS OR PINS AND MAKE AN IMPRESSION IN CLAY WITH THEM TO DECORATE YOUR CARDS

<Redstick> Hey katw! That's a GOOD idea!

<brenda> OH NEAT IDEA

<RubberRabb> that is a good idea katw

<Redstick> That's neat, too brenda!

<RubberRabb> washers make good metal 'beads' too

<brenda> RED HAS GREAT CHARMS TOO

<RubberRabb> since they lie down flat

<Redstick> Only...you need to get yer charms and doo-dads from me :)

<brenda> I NEAVER THOUGHT ABOUT WASHERS

<katw> ty red

<RubberRabb> I've seen springs used as beads too

<RubberRabb> small ones

<brenda> SPRINGS

<LiBsTeR> yes, springs are neat!

<katw> like from inkpens

<RubberRabb> yep

<brenda> I WILL HAVE TO TELL DH HE CANT THROW SPRINGS OR WASHERS AWAY FROM NOW ON

<RubberRabb> you can twist other fibers or string beads onto them

<katw> they are great if they are rusty too

<brenda> OH NEAT IDEA

<Raven> and tiny steel or brass nuts

<brenda> HIS ARE ALWAYS OILY WILL THAT WORK?

Lory holds her ears and sings lalalalala...she cannot start saving other things

<RubberRabb> or you can dab them with Brilliance coffeebean and leave them to dry

<brenda> LOL LORY

<RubberRabb> wash them off first

<katw> lol lory

Raven loves hardware

<brenda> COFFEEBEAM?

Redstick has been organizing her studio from the floor up......gots TONS of ***stuff***

LiBsTeR hands Rabbit an unbirthday present

<Lory> hey, i already missed ravens bday

Raven blows up all the unbirthday balloons

Redstick wishes she could keep friends b/d straight, but hardly remembers her own

LiBsTeR passes out unbirthday cake

<SHAMEFULBR> LOL ME TOO RED

RubberRabbit unwraps her unbirthday gifts unhappily--they're all unreal!

<meridee> aloha!

<SHAMEFULBR> ROFLOL LORY

<SHAMEFULBR> HEY MERIDEE

<meridee> howdy!

<Raven> LOL!!! does that mean if I put a heading on a paper that says "GET RID OF LIST" she'll be proud of me too???

<Redstick> Libster....you in the market for stuff? I did run across some duplicate inkpads, etc

<RubberRabb> I guess so

<Lory> pretty much

<meridee> inkpads?

<Lory> no i have real html written

<Redstick> How's the kidlets, meridee?

meridee 's ears perk up

<RubberRabb> ?? I get inkpads before my mentoree gets inkpads!!

<meridee> spiffy, cutting a tooth as i type

<Raven> HEY!!! INKPADS????

<Lory> i get inkpads before my daughter

<RubberRabb> LOL

LiBsTeR says yes, REd-

<SHAMEFULBR> LOL RED

<RubberRabb> ok, so Lory gets them first,

<RubberRabb> then I get them

<RubberRabb> and then Libster or paperpusher can have them

<SHAMEFULBR> ROFLOL

<LiBsTeR> HEY!

<RubberRabb> by that time they'll need reinking

<Raven> that's okay... I'll take the ugly colors that are half dried out

<paperpushe> did I hear my name?

<RubberRabb> and they can send them back to you, Red

<RubberRabb> LOL

<Raven> then I can not stamp with less guilt :-)

LiBsTeR thinks she was asked first!!! GOsh!

<Lory> an inpad round robin

<meridee> least they won't have glitter ground into them

<Lory> k

<Redstick> No guarantees of that, meridee ;)

<deb> OK - let's get back to class

<Lory> lib is getting rabbit stuff

<LiBsTeR> inkpad round robin, now THAT is an idea

<meridee> I've got some glitter-fied some (thanks to my daughters)

<RubberRabb> who says?

<SHAMEFULBR> OK WHAT OTHER CHEAP TRICKS????/

<Redstick> These aren't the cream d la cream of inkpads guys...

LiBsTeR needs all the help she can get!

<LiBsTeR> ROFL

<meridee> ones=some

<RubberRabb> remove glitter from your inkpads with double stick tape

LiBsTeR thinks "in more ways than one"

<meridee> cheap tricks, hmmmmm

Raven hides her pearl-exified inkpads

<katw> does that work rr

<SHAMEFULBR> OH NEAT IDEA RR

<RubberRabb> yes

<RubberRabb> it will take off pearl ex too

<meridee> fabric softener sheets insteada suze's little puff thingie

<Lory> see, glitter...another thing i am not allowed to play with

<katw> you can pick up glitter, etc from your work surface with swiffer sheets

<RubberRabb> in fact, MJMcgraw says that if your spongy pads get really cruddy

<SHAMEFULBR> OHHH I LOVE GLITTER

<SHAMEFULBR> BUT I TEND TO GO OVERBOARD WITH IT

<RubberRabb> to use a credit card to scrape everything off

<meridee> good one katw- tack cloth type clean up

<meridee> gotta start doing that

<RubberRabb> and then go rinse them out completely and let them dry and reink them all over again

<Lory> i have done that RR but another tip...make sure its not your current one

<SHAMEFULBR> WOW RR

<RubberRabb> that works on Marvy pads, and also Ancient Page

<RubberRabb> but not on the cloth-type pads

<Lory> I have done that with ugly colored ones too

<RubberRabb> I tried it and it works

<katw> i've done that with embossing pads to rr

<RubberRabb> yep

<Scout> Got an insert in the paper yesterday, that is really perfumey. Thought I would cut it up into confetti or maybe little half inch squares, and put behind decoration on cards. Just enough of a piece to smell good without blowing people away.

<RubberRabb> the sponge pads can be washed out completely; the felt-cloth ones can't

<meridee> good un scout6

<katw> great idea scout

<SHAMEFULBR> WHAT DO YOU USE YOUR DREMELS FOR?

<paperpushe> good idea, scout!

<Raven> good idea, Scout!

<RubberRabb> tuck the whole sheet in your paper stash and perfume the lot

<Lory> manicures

<SHAMEFULBR> YOU CAN DO THAT WITH THE THINGS YOU HANG IN THE CAR TOO

<Raven> I need a new Dremel... mine died

<meridee> i take new fabric softener sheets, cut them into squares and put a card + a sqaure in a baggie for awhile

<RubberRabb> I drill holes in book covers, boxes, etc with my Dremel

<meridee> do that with books I sell too (on half.com)

<Raven> I drill holes a lot with it...

LiBsTeR thinks, ummm, soft cards!!!

<SHAMEFULBR> DO YOU HAVE A PATTERN RAVEN?

<SHAMEFULBR> HEY QUEEN

<LiBsTeR> Raven wings it- get it? Raven? Wing?

<LiBsTeR> ROFL

<RubberRabb> alternative thing with stinky books is to put them into a baggie with kitty litter> will absorb moisture and odor

<Redstick> I got a cordless screwdriver and got teeny tiny drill bits to fit it....cheaper than a dremel

<Raven> pattern? huh? did I miss sumthin?

<TheQueen> hey brenda

Lory says mmm ravenwings...yummy

<LiBsTeR> lol

<SHAMEFULBR> FOR DRILLING RAVEN ?

Raven snatches her wings outta Lory's teeth

<meridee> too smart red- why didn't I thinka that before I paid for the dremel

<RubberRabb> now now, not allowed to much raven wings today Lory

<RubberRabb> it's a Raven-wing-fasting holiday today

<Lory> lib said it first...not me

<Raven> I just drill what ever needs drilling

<RubberRabb> you can sand stuff down with your Dremel

<RubberRabb> sand down rough polymer clay

<RubberRabb> or shape a wooden bead

<SHAMEFULBR> SHAPE?

<Raven> I like the wire brush toolie ends.... for roughing up tins and such fast

<SHAMEFULBR> LIKE ETCH A DESIGN?

<RubberRabb> yep just sand away at it until it is the shape you want

<paperpushe> ooh good idea, Rave

<Raven> ENCH! Hi

<enchy> hi

<SHAMEFULBR> HEY ENCHY

<paperpushe> hey Enchy

<LiBsTeR> Hi Enchy!!!

<RubberRabb> Hey Enchy!!

<Lory> hey ench

<Redstick> Hey there, enchy! Ready to go into biz? ;)

enchy faints seeing meridee

<enchy> i think it would be a good business move for both of us

<enchy> lol

Redstick laughs

RubberRabbit revives enchy with a slap of the soft trout

<enchy> i'll be the left coast connection of enchanted ink

<RubberRabb> are you and enchy going to go into business together?

<RubberRabb> how cool

<SHAMEFULBR> OK ANYMORE TRICKS?

<Scout> Anyone ever have a Memories pad go bad? I got one that I opened and didn't use for a month, and then when I opened it it smelled awful, with a capital A. I finally tried washing it out, etc. figuring I could then reink it, but two years later, it still smells terrible.

<Redstick> Werks fer me!

<meridee> ooooooo!

<enchy> well since everywhere i shop the account says

<meridee> that's too cool ench

<enchy> enchanted ink just above enchanted circle

<TheQueen> Hi Redstick!

<enchy> i figure it's our destiny

<RubberRabb> send it back to Stewart Superior

<Raven> LOL!

<RubberRabb> or at least contact them and tell them what you told us about the pad

<LiBsTeR> Scout- call Stewart Superior, they will send you another one, probably

<RubberRabb> I did that with Ancient Page and got replacements for about half of them

<katw> you can use drywall tape instead of that magic mesh

<Scout> It was several years ago and I figured it was a lost cause after I messed with it so long.

<SHAMEFULBR> WHAT DO YOU USE IT FOR KAT?

Redstick curtsies sweetly to DaQueen

<RubberRabb> I did that with Memories too and got not only mine replaced by a bunch of others too

<katw> just for layering

<Scout> Just can't figure what made it smell so rotten.

Redstick then grabs her and gives her a BIG hug! LTNS, Lady!

<SHAMEFULBR> IS IT STICKY ON BOTH SIDES?

<TheQueen> ty red!

TheQueen hugs red back {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Candace}}}}}}}}}}}}}

TheQueen got her room reserved at Baymont for me and deb

<Anaconda> and there was a nice circular one about 2.5 inches in diameter

<Scout> I found a bunch of foam knee pads on sale at Michaels for $1 each, got about 15 unmounted mounted on em. Just cut out with scissors...makes mounts that are about 1/2 inch thick. Not terrifically great looking, but added a stamped image to top and they work, so not worried about looks.

LiBsTeR is soo sad to hear about the babies, Cindy

<deb> oh yes save those oil of olay fash washers

<SHAMEFULBR> I WILL FORWARD A LOG FROM SAT TO YOU JANET

<RubberRabb> we've been really good> no one said shit at all while you were gone

<Janet> oh yeah. and I saved every cool scrap of paper I saw for good backgrounds

<Janet> oh yeah, RR, I almost believe that.

<Janet> Thank you, Brenda.

<sparkle> deb said shit while you were gone!

<Lory> i will confess, i said shit

<deb> SPARKLE

<Janet> That's one of the best things about traveling, you can pick up foreign newspapers and they make the coolest backgrounds

deb bops sparkle and tapes her mouth shut with duct tape

<RubberRabb> well, no one said it while I was listening..

<SHAMEFULBR> LOL

LiBsTeR heard, but wasn't telling

<SHAMEFULBR> JANET RUN COPIES

<RubberRabb> but then my computer has had its guts all over the floor for the past two days..

<SHAMEFULBR> SEND RAKS OF NEWSPAPERS

<Janet> and I went to the van Gogh museum and got all inspired

<RubberRabb> I"m envious right there, Janet

<Janet> not yet.<g>

<SHAMEFULBR> LOL LORY

RubberRabbit loves van Gogh paintings and sketches

<Janet> it was absolutely fabulous. I was reminded again how we can incorporate rhythms and patterns in our art

<SHAMEFULBR> CHEAP WAQTERCOLORS WORK ALMOST AS GOOD AS REAL THING WHEN DOING BACKGROUNDS

<Janet> Oh! that's my favorite fast and easy card. Watercolor wash and stamp a sentiment and mail it.

<SHAMEFULBR> YEP

<Janet> (I am not as successful as I could be about the mailing part)

<SHAMEFULBR> LEARNED THAT FROM YOU JANET

<SHAMEFULBR> AND I AM THAT TOO

<SHAMEFULBR> FORGET TO MAIL

<katw> me too

cindyc thinks that would be a great new years resolution... SEND cards....

<Janet> so what else did you all discuss? abuse of small appliances?

<Raven> And since cheap watercolors are... uh... cheap... you tend to use them with wild abandon and make LOTS of experiments to play with

<SHAMEFULBR> YES

<SHAMEFULBR> FREEZER PAPER

<Janet> freezer paper RULEZ

<SHAMEFULBR> RUBBER GASKET STUFF TO MAKE STAMPS

<Keribou> fpr what Janet?

<SHAMEFULBR> FROM HARDWARE STORE

<meridee> fer what janet?

<SHAMEFULBR> NO JANET

<SHAMEFULBR> TELL US

<RubberRabb> storing gel pens point down to avoid skippng (forces the ink to the pen tip and gets rid of bubbles)

<Raven> Clear contac paper makes cool envies too.... sprinkle glitter and cofetti on tissue... cover with contact paper... make envelope

<Lory> substitute for lunas right janet

<Janet> buy the pearlescent model car paints and use those on dark papers, looks just like the Luna Lites paints

<Janet> yep

<Janet> and they really do

<paperpushe> good one, Janet

<Lory> me pays attention to the leahho

<Janet> (at half the price)

<Janet> faskolor brand

<Janet> oh yes!

<Raven> AND you can float them on water to marble with

<cindyc> the best one the other night was using the small photo albums for stoting your small stencils in...

<Janet> and thin white tissue you've dropped reinker on and then spritzed with water, oooh lala

<SHAMEFULBR> YES CINDY THAT WAS A GOOD ONE

<Janet> oh! what a great idea

<RubberRabb> larger photo albums to store your larger templates in

<LiBsTeR> I need to get some stencils, now! Brenda's class got me fired up to dry emboss

<LiBsTeR> I always wondered what that was

<RubberRabb> you can also make cool templates by printing them on cardstock, running the cardstock through the laminating xyron

<RubberRabb> and then cutting them out

<katw> good idea rr

<cindyc> hey, i bought metal book marks that have cutouts like the stencils (which i will use as stencils) at the bookstore for 1.00 per today!

<Raven> yikes.... one more reason I need a Xyron.... *sigh*

<LiBsTeR> WOW Cindy!!!

<RubberRabb> stiff, water-resistant and you can label them before you laminate them

<RubberRabb> cool cindy

<SHAMEFULBR> WOW CINDY

<RubberRabb> you can use tooling metal to make your own dogtags

<cindyc> was looking for secreet pal gifts and found me some... <G>

<RubberRabb> and you can buy blank thicker dogtags at the pet store

<SHAMEFULBR> OH NEAT RR

<RubberRabb> paint them, stamp on them etc

<cindyc> or shrink it rr

<cindyc> and computer generate the info..lol

<RubberRabb> speaking of which---a cool thing I saw one time was someone who drew a large silhouette on shrink plastic

<RubberRabb> and cut it out with a xacto

<RubberRabb> then shrank it

<RubberRabb> and he had this tiny stencil

<RubberRabb> way cool

<Raven> oh coolies

<cindyc> oh cool idea!

<SHAMEFULBR> OH NEAT IDEA

<RubberRabb> he used it with blowpens

<RubberRabb> but you could use it with anything

<RubberRabb> speaking of which, blowpens are the cheapest airbrush paint around

<Keribou> My 15 month old daughter just climbed into the dishwasher becuase hubby had the door down

<cindyc> lol

<katw> lol

<Keribou> She can't walk but now I know she can climb

<RubberRabb> one way to get her clean

<RubberRabb> if you use a rinse aid she won't get spots, either

<Keribou> sorry- had to share that

<LiBsTeR> LOL

<Keribou> lol RR

<Scout> does she have dishwasher safe tattooed on her behind?

<RubberRabb> top rack safe, prolly

<meridee> LOL

<cak> I like Janet's idea of using a torn paper towel as a "stencil" for stippling skies

<SHAMEFULBR> LOL

<Janet> oh yeah

<RubberRabb> I knew someone who used to use their dishwasher to poach fish

<cindyc> that works

<SHAMEFULBR> YEP THAT IS A GOOD WAY TO MAKE A SKY

<cindyc> ewwww

<RubberRabb> came out delicious

<RubberRabb> wrapped in foil and in an oven bag

<cindyc> mary ellen says the dishwasher is a great way to wash and sanitize hair brushes.... lol

<RubberRabb> put on the top rack of a clean dishwasher and run through the pots and pans cycle with water heat

<RubberRabb> poached it beautifully flaky and tender! LOL

<Scout> supposedly you can cook stew on the engine of your car while driving to a faraway campsite.

<RubberRabb> I'd get lost and over cook it..

<katw> are we all hungry tonite

<LiBsTeR> Yum! engine flavored stew

<cindyc> sounds like something a "scout" would know

<RubberRabb> LOL

<cindyc> did i freeze?

<RubberRabb> well, I need to get some sleep and try to find the rest of the stuff Chuck hid when he tore my computer apart

<cindyc> night rr

<LiBsTeR> Good Luck, RR!!!
