<Keribou> have a good class
<Keribou> Bye
<jenmist> TY AGAIN
<brenda> oh jen these are awesome
<jenmist> TY BRENDA
<Janet> oh Jen! I just clicked on a sample to see it big. those are gorgeous!!
<jenmist> TY CINDY
<cindyc> that's quite a link †
<cindyc> yw
<jenmist> IT REALLY HELPS TO CLIKC ON THE PIC AND SEE IT BIGGER
<jenmist> I KNOW CINDY
<cindyc> i was lookin at these yesterday... nice very nice
<jenmist> SHOULD WE START?
<Janet> I'm ready!
<jenmist> THESE LITTLE PURSE NECKLACES ARE VERY FUN AND EASY TO MAKE
<jenmist> YOU CAN VARY THE SIZE AS YOU WANT, I AM SHOWING THE SMALLEST BUT I HAVE MADE THEM LARGER AND CUT THE TOP WHICH WILL BE THE FLAP IN A SCALLOP DESIGN SO IT IS VERY FLEXIBLE
<jenmist> SUPPLIES:
<jenmist> DOUBLE STICK SHEET http://www.jhone.com/
<jenmist> LEAF SHEETS - ANY COLOR, WILL BE THE LINING OF THE PURSE
<jenmist> CHARMS - AT LEAST 1 HTTP://WWW.JHONE.COM/
<jenmist> PAPER PLATES
<jenmist> HOLELESS BEADS
<jenmist> 1/8 INCH RED LINE TAPE
<jenmist> NECKLACE OR CORDING OR HEAVY FIBER SUITABLE FOR A NECKLACE
<jenmist> OPTIONALLY:
<jenmist> BEADS, FIBERS, MORE CHARMS
<jenmist> SMALL CLINK-IT http://www.aliciag.com/catalog/
<jenmist> OR HEAVY CS
<jenmist> SMALL ALPHABET OR WORD STAMPS
<jenmist> JHONE IS ADDING THE DOUBLESTICK SHEETS TO HER WEBSITE
<LiBsTeR> goody!
<jenmist> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/sample_page.htm
<jenmist> IF YOU NEED THEM EMAIL HER
<jenmist> JHONE ALSO HAS LOTS OF CHARMS TO CHOOSE FROM
<jenmist> SPEAKIN OF HER
<jhone> Here I are!
<jhone> sorry I'm late, teach
<LiBsTeR> hey Jhone!
<deb> lol
<jenmist> ONE OTHER NOTE I DID USE A FOIL SHEET INSTEAD OF LEAF
<deb> she was just giving us the supplies
<jenmist> NO PROB JHONE
<jhone> k
<jenmist> THE DRAWBACK WITH THE FOIL IS ONLY ONE SIDED
<jenmist> AND THE SOME OF THE BEADS ARE TRANSPARENT
<jenmist> AND IT WAS A BIT HARDER TO ADHERE THAN THE LEAF IS
<rabbitsmom> url ?
<jenmist> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/sample_page.htm
<jenmist> THERE IS A LINK TO THE INSTRUCTIONS THERE TOO
<jenmist> ANY QUESTIONS ON THE SUPPLIES BEFORE WE START?
<jenmist> STEP 1
<jenmist> CUT A PIECE OF THE DOUBLE STICK INTO A 1 1/2 X 4 INCH PIECE (YOU CAN MAKE THIS LARGER IF DESIRED)
<jenmist> STEP 2
<jenmist> PEEL OFF 1 SIDE OF THE DOUBLE STICK ON YOUR CUT PIECE
<jenmist> COVER WITH YOUR LEAF, SHEETS ARE THE EASIEST AS YOU PLACE THE SHEET OVER AND TEAR AT THE EDGES, THEN USE A STIFF BRUSH TO REMOVE EXCESS AND ADHERE TO ADHESIVE MORE FIRMLY
<jenmist> IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS NOT WORKED WITH THE LEAF SHEETS BEFORE?
<LiBsTeR> I haven't
<jenmist> THERE IS A STATIC PULL FROM THE ADHESIVE TO THE LEAF
<jenmist> HARDER TO CONTROL THAN YOU EXPECT
<jenmist> IT WAS FUNNY
<jhone> oooh, I didn't know that jen
<jhone> I've never used leaf with sticky sheets
<cindyc> interesting...
<jenmist> IT WAS LIKE A SCIENCE EXPERIMENT OR SOMETHING - LOL
<LiBsTeR> lol
<deb> lol
<kat> Hi all
<deb> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/instruction_page.htm
<Rusty> hi kat
<jenmist> STEP 3
<deb> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/instruction_page.htm
<jenmist> PLAN THE PIECE, LAY ON TABLE LEAF SIDE UP
<jenmist> FOLD THE TOP EDGE A BOUT 1/8 INCH - THIS WILL BE THE HEM FOR THE PURSE FLAP - PRESS FIRMLY TO MAKE A LINE
<jenmist> FOLD UP THE BOTTOM EDGE TO MAKE THE LINE FOR THE BOTTOM OF THE PURSE, ADJUST THIS TO AN ADDITIONAL FOLD OF THE TOP WHICH WILL FORM THE PURSE FLAP.
<jenmist> PRESS LINES FIRMLY AS THIS WILL HELP IN THE NEXT STEP
<jenmist> PLAN WHERE THE CHARM/CHARMS THAT WILL DECORATE THE FRONT OF THE NECKLACE WILL GO - BE SURE TO CONSIDER THE TOP FLAP WHEN PLANNING THIS
<jenmist> THIS SOUNDS FUNNY TYPED
<jenmist> IS EASIER TO DO THAN EXPLAIN
<jenmist> IT IS IMPORTANT TO PLAN WHERE YOUR CHARM WILL GO
<brenda> k
<jhone> why, Jen?
<jenmist> THIS STUFF IS REALLY STICKY AND IF YOU ARE TOO FAR UP YOUR FLAP WILL COVER THE TOP OF THE CHARM
jhone has to KNOW!
<jenmist> DO NO ASK HOW I KNOW THIS
<jhone> oh
<cindyc> ahhh
<jhone> uh huh - taking after grandmother?
<jenmist> I WAS JUST PLAYING WHEN I MADE MY FIRST ONE SO A FEW MISTAKES ALONG THE WAY
<deb> lol
<brenda> lol
<LiBsTeR> playing = learning
<cindyc> i am sure you meant to have it partly covered jen <W>
<jenmist> LAY A PAPER PLATE ON YOUR WORK SURFACE, OPEN YOUR BEAD PACKAGES/CONTAINERS
<jenmist> GET MULTIPLE PLATES READY IF YOU PLAN TO USE MULTIPLE PACKAGES OF BEADS
<jenmist> OK - IN HONESTY I DO NOT PREPARE THIS WELL BUT YOU SHOULD
<jenmist> LOL
<LiBsTeR> rofl
<jhone> shhh
<jhone> don't tell on yourself
<jenmist> HOLD THE PIECE WITH THE FRONT STILL FOLDED UP, PEEL THE PROTECTIVE SHEET OFF THE DOUBLE STICK DOWN TO THE FOLD LINE, STICK THE CHARM ON WHERE YOU WANT IT.
<jenmist> AT THIS TIME YOU MAY WANT TO SPRINKLE CERTAIN COLORS OF BEADS AROUND THE CHARM
<jenmist> LIKE WITH THE MASK I WANTED BLUE BEADS IN THE EYE HOLES
<jenmist> PEEL OFF THE REST OF THE PROTECTIVE SHEET
<jenmist> SPRINKLE BEADS OVER THE ADHESIVE, DO THIS OVER YOUR PAPER PLATE.
<jenmist> MIX COLORS AS DESIRED, COVER ALL THE ADHESIVE.
<jenmist> LAY PIECE FLAT ON A PLATE AND PRESS DOWN WITH YOUR FINGERS, SET PIECE ASIDE
<jenmist> POUR RUNOFF BEADS FROM PLATES INTO CONTAINERS.
<jenmist> GEE- I SOUND SO WELL ORGANIZED
<brenda> lol
<brenda> sounds fun
<jhone> who are you trying to impress?
<jenmist> DO NOT SPILL OR YOUR LAP WILL BE FULL OF TEENY TINY SILVER BEADS
<cindyc> the beads..
<deb> roflol
<kat> hi maggie
<deb> sounds like you are speking from experience????
<jenmist> IT IS TRUE
<jenmist> STEP 5
<jenmist> LAY PIECE BEAD SIDE DOWN
<jenmist> FOLD THE TOP OVER TO FORM AT LEAST AN 1/8 INCH HEM
<jenmist> CUT A PIECE OF THE 1/8 INCH REDLINE TAPE AND TAPE THE HEM
<jenmist> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/sample_page.htm
<jenmist> HAS A LINK TO THE DIRECTIONS I AM GIVING HERE
<jenmist> FOLD UP THE BOTTOM TO YOUR PLANNED SIZE
<jenmist> USE 1/8 INCH TAPE TO GLUE THE SIDES TOGETHER - DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU ARE GOING TO PUT SOMETHING IN THE PURSE WHEN DONE.
<jenmist> FOLD OVER THE FLAP AND PRESS FIRMLY TO HOLD
<jenmist> THIS IS REALLY PRETTY TINY SO YOU WANT IT TO EASY TO SLIP SOMETHING IN AND OUT
<brenda> k
<jenmist> THAT IS WHY I DO NOT TAPE UP THE ENTIRE SIDE
<jenmist> THIS NEXT PART WAS MY HARDEST AT FIRST
<jhone> another lesson from experience?
<jenmist> YOU CAN ATTACH THE NECK CHAIN OR FIBER IN MULTIPLE WAYS, YOU CAN POKE TINY HOLES IN THE UPPER EDGES AND USE RINGS TO ATTACH A NECK CHAIN - BE CAREFUL AS IT IS EASY TO TEAR AT THIS POINT.
<jenmist> MY BEST SUCCESS INVOLVED USING SATIN CORD - I CUT A PIECE THAT WOULD MAKE THE NECKLACE THE LENGTH I WANTED. THEN I LIFTED THE FLAP AND PLACED A PIECE OF THE RED LINE TAP AND THEN ATTACHED THE CUT ENDS OF THE SATIN CORD TO THAT TAPE. YOU NEED TO PRESS THE TOP FLAP DOWN AGAIN FIRMLY. I HAVE USED FIBERS FOR THIS OR CHAINS FROM UGLY NECKLACES I FOUND ON CLEARANCE BUT I LIKE THE SATIN CORD THE BEST AND IT WAS INEXPENSIVE TOO.
<jenmist> WELL - THE ORIGINAL WAY I SAW IT USED CHAIN BUT THAT CAN BE AN EXPENSIVE OPTION
<LiBsTeR> satin cord is easier to work with, too
<jenmist> ALSO HARDER TO MATCH TO THE METALLICS OF THE BEADS
<jhone> and you can color coordinate satin cord
<brenda> ok
<jenmist> NOW YOU CAN EMBELLISH ANY WAY YOU WISH:
<jenmist> ADD FIBERS/BEAD/CHARMS - WHEREVER YOUR IMAGINATION TAKES YOU.
<jenmist> SEE - HOW EASY
<jenmist> I AM DONE ALREADY
<brenda> yes
<Rusty> wow
<jhone> whoa!
<brenda> now send me one
<brenda> roflol
<jhone> you finished too soon!
<deb> wow
<jenmist> YOU CAN USE A SHARP ITEM TO POKE HOLES ALONG THE BOTTOM TO HANG RINGS WITH CHARMS AND/OR FIBERS BUT BE.
<Rusty> are you going to do mine now?
<deb> that's my daughter!!!!!!
<LiBsTeR> oooo I like the one says God Bless you!!
<jhone> well, we all knew that Jen talks fast!
<brenda> under 15 minutes
<deb> jen that black/gold one is absolutely elegant
<jenmist> CAREFUL AS IT EASY TO TEAR IT - YOU CAN REINFORCE THE BOTTOM BEFORE YOU FOLD IT UP BY ADHERING A LINE OF PAPER TO THE FOLD LINE - YOU WILL NEED TO REALLY PRESS THE FOLD IF YOU DO THIS. I HAVE NOT HAD TO DO THAT AND EVEN WHEN I DID CAUSE A TEAR YOU COULD NOT SEE IT OR ANYTHING. THIS LITTLE PURSE IS FAIRLY TOUGH AS A WHOLE PIECE BUT THE EDGES CAN BE TORN IF YOU ARE NOT GENTLE WHEN ATTACHING ITEMS.
<brenda> cause she is hergrandmother made over jhone
<jenmist> LOL
<jhone> these are gorgeous, jen
<deb> lol
<jhone> but I like the one you made for me best!
<jenmist> I HAD THE BRAINSTORM FOR SLIDING SOMETHING IN THE PURSE LATER
<brenda> lol
<deb> and of course did you see the one she made for MEEEEEEEEEE??
<jenmist> I OWE YOU A MESSAGE INSIDE JHONE
<deb> it's the blue one with the dragonfly on it
<jenmist> CORRECT DEB
<jhone> don't forget that charms can be painted to match your color scheme - use Lumieres
<deb> > )
<deb> jhone
<jenmist> YES JHONE
<deb> my lumieres aren't here yet today
<jenmist> GREAT POINT
<jhone> no, deb, they aren't
<jenmist> I DID THAT WITH THE MERMAID
<deb> <VBG>
<jhone> they are still in my office
<deb> I'll just have to come and GET them
<jenmist> AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE SAMPLES
<jhone> Jen, would it be okay if I gave everyone a special deal on charms when you're finished?
<jenmist> YOU CAN REALLY CARY THE LOOK A LOT WITH THE CHARMS USED
<jenmist> OF COURSE JHONE
<jenmist> NOW IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BEADS....
<jenmist> I HAVE ALSO USED OTHER SMALL PIECES FROM SUZE ON THESE
<jenmist> DEB'S DRAGONFLY OR EXAMPLE
<jenmist> FOR EXAMPLE
<InkyWings> have to go to bed - see you!
<jhone> are you talking about the beadazzle things?
<InkyWings> bye
<jenmist> YES JHONE
<jhone> bye inky
<jhone> those have nice color combos
<jenmist> AND THOSE MOSIAC PIECES TOO
<jhone> I hadn't thought of those
<jenmist> I USED A FEW OTHER THINGS I HAD PICKED UP HERE AND THERE
<jenmist> YOU COULD PROBABLY USE GLITTER TOO
<cak> How about tiny scraps of paper?
<cak> (very mosaicy)
<jenmist> THIS DOUBLE STICK REALLY HOLDS
<jhone> i bet paper would be pretty
<cindyc> i absolutely love the sea colored one with the mermaid, turquoise and greens and blues... ooooo
<jenmist> I DO NOT SEE WHY NOT CAK
LiBsTeR needs to get double stick stuff
<jhone> you could also piece in mizhuwhatever cords
<jenmist> THESE ARE VERY FUN
<jhone> I can't spell it
vicki wants a purple one
<jenmist> YES JHONE
Rusty says lib will need to share
<deb> lol
<LiBsTeR> rofl Jhone
<jhone> lib, I have the double stick sheets for sale now
<cak> lol we all know what you're talkin' about
<jhone> they just aren't the web site yet
<deb> mizuhiki
<LiBsTeR> tell!!!
<jhone> ty, deb
<vicki> Mizuhiki
<deb> I have a bunch of them here
<jhone> package of 3 sheets, 6" X 10", for $3.50
<LiBsTeR> wow!!!
<cindyc> those red lines sheets are the best
<jenmist> THE MASK AND FAN ONE IS A GIFT FOR DD'S DRAMA ADVISOR
<cindyc> good deal
<jenmist> GREAT PRICE JHONE!!!!
<jhone> these are the ones that Amy's Magic sells
<deb> wonderful
<jhone> not the specifically red ones from suze
<jenmist> ANOTHER EMBELLISHMENT IDEA I HAVE NOT TRIED YET
<jenmist> SHRINK PLASTIC
<jhone> shrink plastic is an interesting thought
<Rusty> ooooh that would be neat
<jenmist> YOU DO NEED WHATEVER YOU ATTACH TO BE LIGHTWEIGHT
<deb> feathers
<jhone> jen, I bet you could also use those tiny little brads
<jenmist> I WANTED TO EXPERIMENT WITH JHONE'S FLORAL IMAGES
<jhone> they come in shapes now, like stars
<jenmist> YES JHONE
<jenmist> GREAT IDEA
<jhone> I just ordered some of those to see if I want to stock them
<jenmist> YOU WILL NOTICE I USED FABRIC TRIM ON THE BOTTOM OF A FEW TOO
<jenmist> THERE REALLY IS A LOT YOU CAN DO WITH THESE
<jhone> oooo, FRINGE!
cindyc thinks Jen has too much fun! †
<jenmist> LOL
<jenmist> I REALLY HAVE BEEN HAVING FUN WITH THESE
<jhone> Jen obviously has more time to play than I do
deb thi;nks jhone noticed that fringe a little to qickly!!
cindyc is proud of her sis
<jhone> I like fringe, deb
<jenmist> I MADE ONE FOR REDSTICK AND THE WROTE MEMORIES ON THE CLINKIT INSIDE
<deb> does it go with the gun?
<LiBsTeR> oh neat!
<cindyc> nice touch
<jenmist> I USED A WATCH FACE CHARM AND KEYS TO DECORATE THE PURSE
<fishtail> url again please
<jhone> Wells says if I see clothes with fringe or epaulets, it's as good as sold!
<jhone> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/instruction_page.htm
<jenmist> MY OTHER IDEA IS FOR XMAS GIFTS
<fishtail> ty
<jhone> yw
<deb> lol jhone
<jenmist> COULD BE LIKE A PIN ALMOST BUT
<jhone> it's true, deb
<jenmist> PUT A SPECIAL MESSAGE INSIDE
<jenmist> ONE NOTE ON THE CLINKITS
<jhone> or a tiny gift, jen!
<jhone> like earrings
<cindyc> hmmm prom night? g
<jenmist> YES
<jhone> or money!
<jenmist> I SENT MY RAFEX A $1 INSIDE HERS
<deb> hmm or diamonds
<jenmist> LOL
<deb> aww
<jhone> jen, i want diamonds in my next one
<deb> jen is so sweet
<deb> sweet as CANDY
<jenmist> I USED BRILLIANCE TO STAMP ON THE CLINKITS
<deb> rof
<jenmist> ROFLMAO
<deb> l
<jhone> well, deb suggested it
<jenmist> I DID FIND THAT THE WHITE DID NOT DRY AS WELL AS THE BLACK
<Tami> These look like alot of fun
<jhone> did you try heat setting the brilliance ink, jen?
<deb> as soon as I get my diamonds jhone - we'll work on yours
<jhone> ok, deb
<jenmist> THAT IS MY NEXT POINT
<jhone> oh, I'll hush
<jhone> sorry
<jenmist> IF YOU ARE NOT ENBOSSING HEAT SET IT
<jenmist> EMBOSSING
<jenmist> LOL JHONE
<jenmist> IT IS TRICKY BECAUSE THE WORDS ARE TINY
<jenmist> AND EMBOSSING CAN LOSE THAT DETAIL
<jenmist> THE BLACK AND GOLD PURSE CLINKIT SAYS GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN
<jenmist> IS HARD TO SEE IN THE PIC
<deb> that is so cool
<jenmist> WAS TRICKY TO GET ONTHE CLINKIT AND GOOD IMPRESSION
<deb> I really like the way that turned out
<cindyc> classy
<jhone> there are some one word things on my stamp sheets that would probably work
<deb> is that the stamp camp stamp?
<jhone> like 'aspire'
<jenmist> I SENT ONE TO SOMEONE WITH THAT ONE JHONE!
<jenmist> THAT IS FUNNY
<jhone> deb, I dare you to say that 3 times fast!
<deb> stamp camp stamp
<deb> stamp camp stamp
<deb> stamps camp stamp
<deb> whew
<LiBsTeR> copy and paste doesn't count, Deb rofl
<deb> didn't
<deb> I typed each one
<LiBsTeR> just teasing
<cindyc> yep she typoed to prove it
<deb> notice the extra s on the stamps
<jenmist> OH - THE SUN/MOON ONE HAS LUNA STAMPED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CLINKIT
<cindyc> lol
<jenmist> COME OF THE CLINKITS ARE TOO TRANSPARENT FOR DOUBLE SIDED MESSAGES
<jenmist> SOME I MEAN
<deb> yes
<jenmist> YOU CAN USE HEAVY CS TOO
<jenmist> CLINKITS NOT REQUIRED
<cak> but those would be nice to put an associated image to see with the word
<cindyc> i don't see a sun/moon one?
<jhone> or shrink plastic
<deb> isn't that the first one
<jenmist> YES DEB
<cak> (put the image on the back and word on front)
<deb> domino !1
<LiBsTeR> that woman's profile on the knife's edge would look cool on one of these
<jenmist> http://www.napruszewski.com/jenifer/class/beads/sample_page.htm
<deb> could put one of cindy's dominos in nit
<cindyc> oh, duh
<cindyc> yes, domino!
<cindyc> maybe the tiny ones even
<jenmist> CINDY - THIS WAS WHAT I WAS GOING TO SUGGEST
<deb> yes!
<jenmist> UNTIL YOUR DOMINO CLASS CAME UP
<cindyc> good idea jen
<jenmist> THAT WAS WHEN I HAD THE CLINKIT IDEA
<cindyc> and deb
<deb> yes
<jenmist> YOU GET THE CREDIT ACTUALLY
<cindyc> ok, and me... lol
<jenmist> CAUSE YOUR DOMINOS MADE ME THINK ON IT
<deb> jen actually thinks ahead
<jenmist> ROFL
<cindyc> all in the family
<jenmist> SO CINDY GETS THE MERMAID FOR HELPING HERE STUMBLING RUBBERSIS

<jhone> yes, the charms really do paint up really pretty
<Janet> fair to your customers, anyway.
<jenmist> IF YOU DO NOT GET THE CORRECT BEAD COLORS WHERE YOU WANT THEM

<jenmist> we are in general discussion I think
<jhone> janet, you should see the paper towel i used to wipe the brush as I made the color chart for the lumieres
<glitrbug> how big does a postcard have to be?
<jhone> it is GORGEOUS
<jhone> even Wells remarked on it
<Janet> call it a layering paper!
<jhone> glitrbug, i'm not sure ... but the usps web site will tell you
<jenmist> i may have to forget those 2nd star stamps and get the new luimieres
<jhone> janet, i'm saving it to make some of those paper beads like were in the first edition of Expressions
<jenmist> lumieres are incredible
<glitrbug> I need to look that up so I can use my practice stuff
<jhone> Shannon made some and they are so pretty
<RubberRabb> postcards have to be larger than 3.5x5"
<Janet> ooo those will be gorgeous
<RubberRabb> no thicker than 1/16 of an inch
<RubberRabb> and no larger than 4x6 inches
<jhone> the article even says to use a paper towel to clean your brush and then use the paper towel to make more beads
<RubberRabb> or else they go at full postage rate
<glitrbug> Ok, I have some bigger index cards. Will start using those
<jhone> rr, ty!
<RubberRabb> welcome
<glitrbug> ty
<jhone> did you have that memorized?
