<beanjean1> PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

<beanjean1> IS EVERYONE READY TO START?

<Kanga> yep

<Frances> yes

beanjean1 HAS TO FINISH PACKING

<SEIJRA> yes

<debbiesdiecuts> yes

<beanjean1> GOOD

<Frances> packing what?

<beanjean1> FIRST, LIKE I EXPLAINED THIS AFTERNOON....THIS IS A 3D PROJECT...IT'S NOT A FLAT CARD

<beanjean1 IS LEAVING FOR A LONG WEEKEND GETAWAY

<Frances> can I go?

Kanga wants to go to

<debbiesdiecuts> she is running away

<beanjean1> ROFL, NO JUST DH AND I ;-)

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> HI IABELLA

<Frances> poo poo

<LindaR> kewl, 3D is good

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see sample

<labella> got kicked off boo hoo

<beanjean1> OK SO EVERYONE REALIZES THAT...IT'S A FRAMED SET OF DOMINOES

<LindaR> i wondered if it was dominos

<Kanga> wow

<beanjean1 SAYS BRENDA YOU'RE DOING GREAT

<beanjean1> POOR IABELLE

<LindaR> its gorgeous

<beanjean1> THANKS LINDAR

Kanga is not worthy

<beanjean1> I SURE WISH I'D HAVE SCANNED ALL OF THE STEPS

<debbiesdiecuts> so how did you do the dominos

<beanjean1> OK

<beanjean1> LET'S GET STARTED

<beanjean1> REMEMBER YOU'VE ALREADY MADE THE BACKGROUNDS

<beanjean1> There are several different Īpartsā to this project....weāll go through each one step by step.

<beanjean1> The first part is the dominoes

<debbiesdiecuts> i have all these stamps...and want to learn the secrets from the master...

<Kanga> ALL CAPS PLS

<beanjean1> LOL DEBBIES

<beanjean1> KANGA, UNFORTUNATLY I TYPED IT IN LOWER CASE :(

<Kanga> k

<beanjean1> i DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO RETYPE IN CAPS

<beanjean1> I cut the dominoes out of wood, because I didnāt want to have to deal with the design,

<beanjean1> plastic, etc. of the regular dominoes. I used a 5/16" thick wood and cut the pieces 1" x 2". Use a belt sander to round the corners, and touch them up with sandpaper.

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see samples

<beanjean1> HI SPARKEE

<beanjean1> ANY QUESTIONS SO FAR?

<beanjean1> I'LL TAKE THAT AS NO?

<Kanga> no

<beanjean1> Paint the sides and back of the dominoes with black acrylic paint. (At that point I wasnāt

<beanjean1> sure where I was going with the project, the back didnāt NEED to be painted as it turns

<beanjean1> out!)

<Kanga> k

<beanjean1> SO YOU CAN JUST PAINT THE SIDES...AND I JUST USED ACRYLIC PAINT

<beanjean1> Stamp the image on your previously prepared background and then cut the image into 1"

<beanjean1> x 2" pieces. I used Tacky glue to adhere them to the Faux Dominoes.

<brendafk> ah the secret

<debbiesdiecuts> is this prepared background cork...I missed that class

<beanjean1> OK THAT'S HOW TO GET THE DOMINOES READY

<Kanga> me too

<beanjean1> NO IT'S THE GLOSSY PAPER WITH THE DYE REINKERS....

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> EVO SAID SHE WOULD PUT ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON HER WEBSITE

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see samples

<beanjean1> HI CINDYC

<debbiesdiecuts> ok...thanks...but I swear it looks like cork

<beanjean1> rofl DEBBIES!!!

<beanjean1> OK LET'S RECAP

<LindaR> just in time!

<Kanga> k

<beanjean1> WE'VE CUT THE DOMINOES, SANDED, PAINTED, STAMPED OUR IMAGE ON OUR BACKGROUND, AND CUT AND GLUED IT TO THE DOMINOES

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> RIGHT?

<labella> right-o

<debbiesdiecuts> yeppers

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see samples

<LindaR> sorry to repeat, but what kind of paper did you stamps on

<Kanga> yep

<beanjean1> THE PAPER IS THE DYE REINKER BACKGROUNE WE DID IN CLASS LAST NIGHT

<LindaR> ok, ty

<beanjean1> I DO HAVE STUFF AT YAHOO PICS, IF YOU WEREN'T IN CLASS AND WANT TO SEE IT LATER....

<beanjean1> AND REMEMBER, ALL OF THESE DIRECTIONS WILL BE ON EVO'S WEBSITE

<beanjean1> HI PP!!!!!!!!!!!

<paperpusher> BJ!!!!!

paperpusher hugs beanjean

beanjean1 HUGS BACK QUICKLY, I'M TEACHING A CLASS HERE!

<paperpusher> ;)

<beanjean1> OK, NOW THE FRAME....

<beanjean1> he frame I used started out as one of those clip frames. It had multiple layers of cardboard

<beanjean1> for matting. Take the layers and glue them together.

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> CAN EVERYONE PICTURE WHAT THE FRAME WAS?

<labella> nop

<LindaR> no

<labella> nope

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson for samples

<Kanga> no

<beanjean1> (BEFORE *I* GOT A HOLD OF IT <g>)

<beanjean1> OK

<beanjean1> PIECE OF GLASS

<Kanga> ?

<beanjean1> SEVERAL LAYERS OF CARDBOARD WITH CENTERS CUT OUT

<beanjean1> AND THEN A BACK

<beanjean1> ALL OF THOSE LAYERS ARE HELD TOGETHER WITH CLIPS

<Kanga> did you make it?

<beanjean1> USUALLY YOU FIND THEM IN GIFT SHOPS WITH SAYINGS IN THEM....

<beanjean1> NOPE

<beanjean1> GOT A GREAT DEAL....

<LindaR> a frameless picture frame

<Kanga> held by clips

<beanjean1> CARD SHOP GOING OUT OF BUSINESS

<beanjean1> ESSETIALLY YES

<beanjean1> BECAUSE ACTUALLY WHAT YOU SEE AS A FRAME NOW, WAS A MAT IN IT'S FORMER LIFE....

<beanjean1> HI JANET

<Janet> hi!

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<LindaR> jean, what color in the pix is the frame you are referring to?

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson for samples

<LindaR> is it the black?

<beanjean1> IT'S THE OUTSIDE LINDAR...IT'S THE GREENISH BROWNISH

<beanjean1> HEY SEESA

<Seesa> Hi Jean!

<beanjean1> THE VERY OUTSIDE EDGE....

<LindaR> the background paper like you taught yesterday

<beanjean1> I NEEDED TO DO SOME MORE SCANS :(

<beanjean1> YES!!! THE FRAME IS COVERED WITH THE CRUMPLED PAPER BACKGROUND!!!!!!

<beanjean1> CAN YOU TELL????

beanjean1 THINKS THAT WE'RE ALL CLOSE TO THE SAME PAGE....

<SEIJRA> did i miss evo's social?

<LindaR> it looks like the crumpled bg paper, but it's hard to see the dimensionality of a frame

<beanjean1> YES I KNOW LINDA.....

<beanjean1> THAT'S THE HARDEST PART ABOUT THIS

<LindaR> ok ,i think i'm there

<LindaR> ty

<Kanga> i'm close

<beanjean1> I ACTUALLY THOUGHT ABOUT DUPLICATING IT, AND SCANNING THE STEPS

<beanjean1> HOWEVER, THE TIME FACTOR...

<debbiesdiecuts> oh so we were not worth all that time...LOL

<beanjean1> TOO MUCH TO DO BEFORE LEAVING TOMORROW A.M.

<beanjean1> LOL DEBBIES

<LindaR> well, you were makeing art, not preparing a class

<Janet> yeah, that's what I heard her say, Debbie<g>

<beanjean1> THANK YOU LINDA....AND FOR ONCE THIS ONE JUST WORKED....YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

<LindaR> yup

<brendafk> worked good

<beanjean1> SO ANYWAYS...NEST

<beanjean1> OOPS

<beanjean1> NEXT

<beanjean1> Cut a piece of the previously prepared crumpled paper background large enough to wrap

<beanjean1> all of the layers. Lay the frame on the paper, put Tacky glue on the paper, and wrap it

<beanjean1> like a present, trimming excess where necessary.

<Kanga> this was different paper than what is on the dominos?

<beanjean1> HEY GUESS WHAT?

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> YES IT IS KANGA

<Kanga> ty

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see samples

<labella> what?

<Janet> whut?

<beanjean1> I JUST FOUND ANOTHER OF THOSE FRAMES...

<Seesa> Guess? lets see Deb is all buying us whatever we want? ;>

<AmyLPR> thx deb

<AmyLPR> lol

Seesa hides in the corner

<beanjean1> OK, I'LL SCAN IT AND PUT IT ON YAHOO

<beanjean1> On the INSIDE, cut an X all the way to corners, and wrap that around trimming as

<beanjean1> needed. Also, the little in side corners can be filled in with scraps.

<beanjean1> SO WE'RE WRAPPING THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME....

<Kanga> wrap the inside with black paper?

<beanjean1> NO, WITH THE CRUMPLED BACKGROUND

<beanjean1> PICTURE A RECTANGULAR PIECE

<beanjean1> AND YOU LAY THIS FRAME IN THE MIDDLE...

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> I WRAPPED THE OUTSIDE UP AND AROUND TO THE BACK....

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see samples

<beanjean1> THEN IN THE MIDDLE I CUT A 'X' INTO THE INSIDE CORNERS....

<beanjean1> AND THEN WRAPPED THOSE TO THE BACK

<beanjean1> THIS PAPER AFTER YOU MAKE IT IS VERY SOFT AND PLIABLE....

<beanjean1> VERY EASY TO WRAP

<Frances> I promised you some beads

<Frances> I promised you some beads

<beanjean1> FRANCES YOU ARE REPEATING YOURSELF!

<brendafk> oh

<Janet> me? oh good, I want some beads :)

<Kanga> me too

<Frances> tried to whisper.......didnt work

<beanjean1> When itās dry, stamp a leaf all over (I used Copper and Black).

<Janet> too late, I heard. :)

<labella> so we all get beads?

<Seesa> Need to kick theweb browser

<beanjean1> SO, YOU ALL BEEN TO EVO'S AND LOOKED AT THE COOL STAMPS?????

<brendafk> yes bj

<Frances> brenda helped me with my social the other night

<Kanga> yes

<brendafk> and drooled

<beanjean1> THIS LEAF IS FROM ONE OF THE LEAF PLATES

<Frances> I went to see the site BJ. Awesome work!

<beanjean1> THANKS!

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> OK, WE'RE RECAPPING AGAIN....

<brendafk> go down to jean johnson to see samples

<beanjean1> WE'VE MADE FAUX DOMINOES....

<brendafk> http://www.evolving-images.com/chal02.htm

<beanjean1> AND THEN WE COVERED THE FRAME

<beanjean1> NOW

<beanjean1> To assemble> Cut a piece of black mat board to fit the frame.

<beanjean1> Dry assemble the pieces FIRST.

<beanjean1> Place the frame on the mat board, put dominoes inside, space them as desired, then use

<beanjean1> Tacky glue to adhere it all together.

<beanjean1> REMEMBER TO DRY ASSEMBLE!!!!

<beanjean1> YOU DON'T NEED GLUE IN THE WRONG PLACES!!

<brendafk> awesome

<Kanga> oh, the frame has no back to it

<labella> what is the stiching around the outside edge?

<beanjean1> THAT'S WIRE

<beanjean1> I used a thick piece of acetate for the front, because I thought Evo would be taking this to

<beanjean1> conventions with her. You could use the thin glass that came with the frame. I laid it on

<beanjean1> top of the frame, and then wrapped REALLY tight with wire.

<labella> wow

<beanjean1> Start on the back, wrap around a corner to front, go to next corner, wrap around to back,

<beanjean1> until itās all done!

<beanjean1> I KIND OF TWISTED THE WIRE AT THE TOP FOR A HANGER

<beanjean1> MIGHT HAVE TAPED IT....

<beanjean1> GOSH THIS WAS A WHILE AGO!!!

<Janet> Jean, did we stamp the dominos yet?

<beanjean1> YES

<Janet> how?

<beanjean1> WELL

<beanjean1> YOU DON'T STAMP ON THE DOMINOES

<beanjean1> YOU STAMP ON THE BACKGROUND PAPER

<beanjean1> AND GLUE IT TO THE DOMINOES

<Janet> ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

<Janet> I get it now. I've been wondering for weeks how you kept the dominos all lined up

<beanjean1> IT'S MY CONTROL FREAK THING

<beanjean1> WELL, I DID THINK ABOUT TWO WAY TAPING THEM DOWN

<beanjean1> IT COULD BE DONE

<beanjean1> BUT THIS WAS REALLY EASY!!!!!!

<Frances> BJ....thank you for this class. I have to go. I'm bone tired. Great work!

<Kanga> great work!

<Janet> (I'm fixing to crawl in after Franny. been a very long day)

<LindaR> did you wrap the dominos with the paper or is it just a layer on the front?

<beanjean1> lol

<beanjean1> well I just uploaded a pic of that frame....

<beanjean1> it's just a layer on the front linda

<brendafk> where?

<beanjean1> UHHH

<LindaR> good, that makes sense

<brendafk> hey vickie b

<beanjean1> http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/jeanjohnson2002/lst?.dir=/Crumpled+Paper+Background&.view=t
