<MomCat> How many people here have not seen my watercolor sunset or would like to send it again?

<Judy> oh, I would

<MomCat> rofl, joyfl

* joyflnoyz has not seen it!

<Anita> I like to see it

<Frances> I haven't and I would

<Scout> Sure thing....

<c> first time I'm here so i'd like to se it

<Judy> was better this morning

<MomCat> lets watercolor!

<MomCat> http://www.dm.net/~cak/colormixing/000819alt.html

<Jambalaya> yes!

<MomCat> yes

<MomCat> I do this sunset on dry watercolor paper

<joyflnoyz> Hey momcat, can you cange you type color so we can pick you out of the crowd better?

* Jambalaya tosses the caps to MomCat

<MomCat> NO BUT i CAN USE CAPS

<Frances> that helps

<MomCat> GOOD

<MomCat> I USE DRY WATERCOLOR PAPER

<joyflnoyz> helps a lot..thanks

<MomCat> YW

<MomCat> LAY DOWN A BROAD BAND OF YELLOW ACROSS YOUR PAGE

<MomCat> THE BOTTOM OF THE YELLOW SHOULD BE A LITTLE BELOW WHERE YOU WANT THE BOTTOM OF THE SUNSET TO BE

<MomCat> THE HILLS AND GIRAFFE ARE GLUED ONTO THE SUNSET AFTER THE WATER COLOR PAPER DRIES

<MomCat> THEN PAINT A BAND OF RED ACROSS THE TOP OF THE YELLOW

<MomCat> AND BLEND THEM TOGETHER

<MomCat> I WANTED THE TOP OF THE SKY TO BE BLUE AND LAVENDAR

<MomCat> AND I NEEDED TO ADD BLUE PAINT TO GET THOSE COLORS

<MomCat> BUT IF BLUE MIXES WITH ORANGE YOU WILL GET A BROWNISH-GREY MUD COLOR

<MomCat> BE CAUSE BLUE AND ORANGE ARE DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER ON THE COLOR WHEEL

<MomCat> WHICH MAKES THEM COMPLEMENTARY COLORS

<MomCat> AND COMPLEMTS MIXED TOGETHER MAKE "MUD"

<MomCat> SO PAINT A SECOND RED BAND ACROSS THE TOP OF THE FIRST ONE

<MomCat> AND BLEND IT INTO THE FIRST RED BAND, MAKING SURE TO KEEP A WIDE AREA OF RED ACROSS THE TOP

<MomCat> THEN ACROSS THE TOP OF THE PAPER, PAINT A BLUE BAND AND BLEND IT INTO THE PAPER

<MomCat> YOU PAINT THE BANDS LIKE THIS:

<MomCat> BLUE

<MomCat> RED

<MomCat> RED

<MomCat> YELLOW

<MomCat> IF THEY DON'T WANT TO BLEND AS MUCH AS YOU WANT

<MomCat> ADD A LITTLE WATER OR A LITTLE MORE COLOR

<MomCat> ANY QUESTIONS?

<MomCat> http://www.dm.net/~cak/colormixing/000819alt.html

<MomCat> THIS IS MY ONE WATER COLOR ACCOMPLISHMENT

<Anita> very nice

<c> I guess water color pencils will do just fine, won't they?

<MomCat> SO FEEL FREE TO ADD TIPS ANYBODY WHO WATER COLORS

<MomCat> C, I THINK SO

<c> :-)

<MomCat> I HAVE NEVER USED THEM

<Anita> I have to try this if I only could find my water color paper....

<MomCat> SOME PEOPLE PICK UP SOME COLOR OF OF DYE INK PADS

<MomCat> YOU CAN DO THIS WITH A CHEAP SET OF KID'S WATER COLORS

<MomCat> BUT IF YOU REALLY "GET INTO" WATERCOLORING

<Scout> I have used these and works OK. Wish I could find the Peerless pack I bought three years ago.

<c> I'll really have to try this, it looks so neat

<MomCat> YOU MIGHT WANT TO BUY SOME PEERLES WATERCOLORS FROM STUBBY IN THE CONVENTION

<Frances> bet this would be stunning with the twinkling H2Os!!!

<joyflnoyz> easy technique ! I nee to try it as soon as I get my stuff unpacked

<c> it looks so complicated and it's not, I like that ;)

<MomCat> RIGHT, C

<MomCat> I DID IT BECAUSE i WANTED A SUNSET BEHIND THE GIRAFFE

<MomCat> THEN i THOUGHT THAT IT LOOKED SO GREAT AND WAS SO EASY THAT I HAD TO TEACH IT

<MomCat> http://www.dm.net/~cak/colormixing/000819alt.html

<MomCat> THERE IS A LINK TO THE COLOR WHEEL ON THAT PAGE TOO

<c> Thanks for the class MomCat! i have to go now :-(

<MomCat> GET SOME WATER COLORS AND JUST PLAY WITH MIXING THE COLORS

<Anita> It is'a already under my favorites!!!!!!!

<MomCat> THANKS FOR COMING, C

<c> It's past bedtime for me but I'll try to come by tomorrow night

<MomCat> gREAT, C

<MomCat> WE'LL BE GLAD TO SEE YOUR

<c> Bye everyone!

<Anita> I am so tired I have to go.. My kids wakes at 5 in the morning...

<MomCat> BYE ANITA

<Anita> bye

<Anita> ;)

<joyflnoyz> Thanks, MC! good class

<MomCat> YOU'RE WELCOME

<MomCat> THANKS FOR COMING

<Scout> Wow, it is marvelous that you guys have all these impromptu classes stashed, so you can just pop em in. Talk about

<joyflnoyz> Hey, tell Janet we missed her ..

<Scout> Be Prepared!

<MomCat> SCOUT, TEACH THIS CLASS EVERY CONVENTION

<Scout> Were you all Girl Scouts at one time?

<MomCat> BUT YES, WE HANG ONTO OUR CLASS PAGES

<MomCat> I WAS

<joyflnoyz> I was :)

<pmstamper> me too

<MomCat> RIGHT THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL

<Judy> I was, but I'm not prepared for anything right now

<MomCat> here's another class

<MomCat> http://www.dm.net/~cak/EIbigstuff.html

<MomCat> I WON'T GO THROUGH THIS STEP BY STEP

<MomCat> BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THIS BECAUSE THE STAMPS ARE

<MomCat> DIFFERENT FROM WHAT MOST OF OUR VENDORS SELL

<MomCat> THESE ARE BIG, SOLID STAMPS FROM ENCHANTED INK

<MomCat> AND THE DESIGNS ON THE ANIMALS ARE STAMPED ONTO THE BIG STAMPS

<MomCat> THEN STAMPED ON PAPER

<joyflnoyz> OH...are those red's papers ??

<MomCat> YOU NEED A LOT OF CUSHIONING UNDER THE PAPER TO MAKE THIS WORK

<MomCat> NO, NOT RED'S PAPERS

<MomCat> SHE HAS A SHEET WITH THESE BIG ANIMALS AND THE SMALLER DESIGNS TO DECORATE THEM WITH

<joyflnoyz> cool!

<MomCat> FOR THE BUNNY, I DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT COLOR OF PAPER FOR THE MIDDLE LAYER

<MomCat> SO I MADE IT MYSELF BY USING THE SAME INK PAD I USED FOR PART OF THE FLOWER DESIGNS ON THE BUNNEY

<Judy> good idea, MomCat!

<MomCat> I'VE DONE IT SINCE ON PURPOSE

<MomCat> I LIKE COLORS TO =REALLY= MATCH

<MomCat> AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE COLORED RIBBON THE SAME WAY

<MomCat> QUESTIONS, COMMENTS

<MomCat> ANYBODY HAVE SOME TIPS TO SHARE

<Bibi> no, but these were great!

<Torhild> looks very nice

<MomCat> THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING SUCH GOOD SPORTS

<Scout> I know it isn't the same, but in a class last week we used the Ninja waterbrushes and Design Ink pads to watercolor and I really enjoyed it. First time I ever tried it. Would these work for this technique, Mom Cat?

<Judy> was very interesting MomCat!

<MomCat> SCOUT I AM SURE IT WOULD

<MomCat> HI, ENCH
