<cak> OK, who knows the most about organizing paper (I already know it's not me)?

<jenmist> definitely not me

<BlackCats> can't be me

<Judy> not me!

<Kriztina> the floor isnt a good place for it

<jenmist> I am a scrapper too so I have many kinds of paper and CS

<WIstamper> not me either

<JoyceSBS> not me....it's all over the place here!

<BlackCats> hanging files isn't the way

<Scout> the word "organization" is not in my vocablary

<ezjourney> Martha Stewart

<jenmist> and I get Clubscrap too! - those pizza boxes are piling up

<Judy> and she's in trouble

<cak> lol ez. I think she has other things on her mind for the time being

<Jambalaya> HI Y'ALL

<ezjourney> that's what paper does to you

<Jambalaya> IT'S ME AGAIN<G>

<ezjourney> hi

<CindyC> brb need to take meds now....

<WIstamper> hi

<cak> (I shoulda known--that Jamba is organized alright!)

<Bibi> hi jamsagain

<Jambalaya> ORGANIZATION IS OUR REAL HOBBY, IN CASE YOU HADN'T FACED THAT YET

<ezjourney> do you have any chocolate Jambs

<Jambalaya> I DO!

<Judy> tell that to my craft room!

* Jambalaya HANDS OUT CHOKLITS

<Judy> yummmmmmmmm! ty, jam

<ezjourney> yummy

<WIstamper> you are lucky to have a separate room

<Judy> yes, I know - but it's a mess

<Jambalaya> EVERYTIME YOU BUY SOMETHING NEW, DO YOU GET IT HOME AND SAY OH NO, WHERE WILL I KEEP THIS?

<ezjourney> yup

<Phyl> oh yeeeeeeeeeees

<BlackCats> lol, all the time

<cak> I do

<Jambalaya> ISN'T IT GOOD TO SEE EVERYONE HAS THIS SAME PROBLEM?

<stmpqueen> me never.....;)

<WIstamper> i try ti hide the bag si my dh won't see it

<cak> actually I wonder how I'm going to *find* it again

<jenmist> I just toss the bag in my craft/supply room

<ezjourney> there are still piles from my last shopping spree

<jenmist> sometimes I find it again and sometimes not

<Phyl> i don't it stay s in lost land forever

<Phyl> until i move the next time

<jenmist> like that big jar of clear EP I cannot find

<stmpqueen> I still can't find some mica tiles I bought for a Christmas present LOL

<Judy> Scout - sounds right up your alley!

<Jambalaya> UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO PERFECT SOLUTION THAT WILL WORK FOR EVERYONE

<BlackCats> and cleaning your craftroom is the easiest way to loose something

<dalis> what????

<jenmist> ROFL cats

<Phyl> so true bc

<Jambalaya> BUT DISCUSSING HOW WE EACH DO THINGS MAY HELP OTHERS

<cindyloon> it is bad when you have to clean off the top of the desk in order to do some work!!!

<jenmist> well I am semi organized with paper

<stmpqueen> or have to work at the coffee table LOL

<Jambalaya> NOW PAPER IS SOMETHING I HAVE FAIRLY CONQUERED

<WIstamper> I work on the kitchen table and then most of the time add a leaf so there is room to eat

<jenmist> I have 12X12 stacking trays for all my 12X12 CS and it is sorted by color families

<Jambalaya> I USE FILE CABINETS WITH HANGING FILES

<jenmist> I have a papertaker filled with my printed 12X12 papers

<Bibi> I have pretty much everything organized, except paper....

<Phyl> the lateral files work the best for me

<ezjourney> mee too bibi

<jenmist> paper is about the only thing that is organized

<dalis> file cabinet for 12X12?

<cindyloon> i use hanging files......and regular paper is organized ok, but it is all of the scraps and collage type papers i have problems with

<stmpqueen> I have both my 12x12 and 8.5x11 in paper trays from staples

<Jambalaya> I KEEP 12X12 IN A SMALL PAPER KEEPER, I DON'T USE MUCH OF THAT

<stampverb> what is a Papertaker?

<rockinrob> I have a plastic tote for hanging files and that is where I keep my scraps.

<rockinrob> I sort them by color families and it sits under my work table.

<WIstamper> I once got a plastic tote to keep my scraps in and now I never look in it

<Bibi> if I don't see it, I don't use it...

<Bibi> hi star

<Star> Hi

<dalis> bibi, that is exactly what happens to me but with my stamps...

<Bibi> yeah, those too

<Judy> and ink pads

<Bibi> hi twodog

<Star> I agree, there is no way to keep everything visual....too many things get lost

<Bibi> hi deb

<twodog> hello!

<deb> hi bibi

* deb waves at everyone

<Judy> need to live in a stamp store!

<Phyl> Hi deb

<Bibi> yep!

<Jambalaya> YES HAVING THINGS IN VEIW IS HELPFUL, BUT MY DH SAYS EVERY SINGLE THING CAN'T BE IN VIEW!!

<deb> I just got home

<Jambalaya> HIYA DEB

<stampverb> Jen, what is the "papertaker" you mentioned earlier?

<dalis> judy, for the ink pads I use a wall cassette holder. I works wonders...

<deb> hi vicki

<Jambalaya> HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR PAPER?

<deb> I store mine is rubbermaid tub with file folders

<Judy> I have plastic drawer type things for most of my paper

<purpledia> For small scraps of paper, I have a 3-ring binder with lots of clear page protectors. I sort by color and paper type.

<deb> this tub is long and deep

<purpledia> Of course the paper has to get *into* the binder.

<deb> and I keep some file organizers on the desk with the "most used" papers

<stmpqueen> I have a expanding file for my scraps

<Jambalaya> WE'RE ORGANIZING PAPER IN HERE ALLISON

<dalis> LOL purple

<cindyc> those paper sorter things from the office supply store, shelf types

<cindyc> and some shelves i hafve

<cindyc> and small ones in drawers

<Star> I store mine on those wire racks from home stores...they are a cube that you can divide....holds !2 xn 12, but those large rolls of handmade paper gives me fits.

<deb> yeah the 12 x 12 gives me fits too

<stmpqueen> I sort my cardstock and solid colored paper by rainbow order.

<cindyc> and extras in used priority boxes i taped together to make spaces and stand open side up

<cindyc> how's that?

<deb> actually clean pizza boxes are good for the 12 x 12

<Jambalaya> AH NOW HANDMADE PAPERS ARE ANOTHER WHOLE SUBJECT OF THEIR OWN, AREN'T THEY?

<deb> oh yes

<Jambalaya> DO YOU HOARD HANDMADE PAPER???

<deb> heh

<cindyloon> YES!

<BlackCats> yes

<cindyc> i don't have any mother sheets... boohooo

<Judy> doesn't everyone?

<deb> um yes

<dalis> I hate those tubes... but at the same time they are so beautiful.

<Phyl> hoard hoard hoard

<purpledia> Large rolls of paper: Here is the answer!

<Jambalaya> REDSTICK OF ENCHANTED INK HAD THE BEST IDEA

<cindyc> naturally

<BlackCats> oh?

<ezjourney> go on

<purpledia> Get a sturdy laundry sorter on wheels.

<Judy> use it - buy more?

<Star> yes, even 11x 13's are difficult because of various thinknesses

<Phyl> lol Judy

<Jambalaya> TEAR EACH PARENT SHEET IN HALF, HOARD ONE HALF, TO KEEP HAPPY, BUT TEAR THE OTHER HALF INTO USABLE SIZE PIECES

<Star> like the three divider ones?

<Phyl> my fingers refuse to tear

<Jambalaya> AND IT WORKS!!!

<cindyloon> good idea........

<purpledia> You can put the rolls of paper vertically into the laundry sorter.

<twodog> I like the laundry sorter idea!

<purpledia> The different sections help keep the paper from falling over and squishing.

<cindyc> nite all

<Star> but, bottom line is you can't keep it all in view at once, right?

<Phyl> nite cindy

<ezjourney> good nite cindy

<dalis> do you think if I buy a laudry sorter and not use it to fix the mess in the laundry my dh would get upset??? LOL

<Jambalaya> NITE CINDY, TAKE CARE

<Judy> nite, Cindy

<BlackCats> nite, cindy

<Judy> lol, dalis

<purpledia> The key is to get a sturdy one with a metal frame. Mine has wheels so when I'm not using that paper, it can hide.

<Scout> I keep long rolls stacked on one end in those big 5 gallon plastic buckets they sell at Home Depot.

<purpledia> I have too much rolled paper - I'd need a couple dozen buckets!

<twodog> I need the wheels part as I have a stamping cart since no room for a room

<Phyl> I hear that purple

<dalis> I have different rubber maid plastics taht I use for paper and cards... but they were all different and drove me crazy... so I bought a PLANO tall cabinet...

<Star> so, do you plan to use them? my problem is when I have a creative frenzy, I forget to look at the rolls and grab those smaller pieces. Even those are difficult to organize. Any suggestions?

<Phyl> i have mine in iris carts

<purpledia> I have no special room either, so this is one of the more useful organizing things I have.

<keribou> I unroll mine and hang them on skirt hangers in my closet

<Scout> I was in the kitchen for awhile. Did anyone mention the use of the fuzzy little pony tail rings to put on the rolls to keep them tight. Much better than using rubber bands as rubber bands leave marks. I keep all my Christmas wrap that way.

<keribou> so easy to tear off apiece plus the paper stays flat and clean

<purpledia> Yes remembering the paper is sometimes a problem.

<BlackCats> good idea, keribou

<twodog> Do you suppose dh would notice if instead of his clothes, there was paper?lol

<purpledia> I have smaller sheets on skirt hangers, too!

<Jambalaya> WB dalis

<stmpqueen> LOL

<BlackCats> single hangers or one of those multi ones, keri?

<dalis> ty

<Jambalaya> LOL

<purpledia> But wide paper is difficult to store on the hangers - corners fold over, etc.

<Jambalaya> MOST FOLKS HAVE TOO MANY CLOTHES, GIVE SOME TO CHARITY, AND FREE UP ROOM FOR PAPER<G>

<twodog> As long as it's dh

<BlackCats> lol

<Bibi> good idea!!

<stmpqueen> :d

<dalis> :d

<Star> I think if we get this paper problem resolved, we owe it to the President to help him with some of his bigger problems.

<deb> lol

<Jambalaya> HEH, IF WE COULD SOLVE THE PAPER PROBLEM, WORLD PROBS WOULD BE A PIECE OF CAKE<G>

<stampverb> but if you use one of those multi-level skirt hangers and place it flat against a wall or back of a door, there is less problem with big sheets

<twodog> I've even threatened to paper one wall with pieces of all I have because I just like looking at it.

<ezjourney> mmmm cake

<Judy> good idea, twodog!

<stampverb> my mom did that for her watercolor papers

<purpledia> Stupid question: what is dh? designated hubby? dear hubby? ???

<twodog> Yep, but dd (16) thinks I'm wacko!

<Jambalaya> COOL, A WALL OF BEAUTIFUL PAPER

<jenmist> or damn

<Judy> or dumb

<Phyl> or dippy

<BlackCats> depends on your mood at the time, purple

<ezjourney> lol

<stampverb> or delicious

<Jambalaya> purpledia, ANYTHING YOU WANT TO FILL IN DEAR DUMB, DIMWIT

<Phyl> iprefer dork

<Judy> dear

<keribou> I use a single layer- I have a few of them and put 5-6 sheets on a hanger

<stampverb> my mother also took pliers and loosened the clips so they would make less of a mark on the papers

<Star> one thing that kind of works is to keep the rolls of like colors together. So, I look into the closet and see a color blob of rolls and say, " Ah, I need it to be an orchid day and just pull out those papers."

<dalis> smart mother verb.

<Jambalaya> I PUT A PIECE OF SCRAP PAPER UNDER THE HANGER CLIPS TO KEEP FROM MARKING GOOD STUFF

<stampverb> thanks dalis

<purpledia> Tee hee! sorry for the distraction. I like the multi-level hanger idea, but I'm not sure I'd hang up all the paper. not too self-disciplined.

<Star> some dull afternoons, I just unroll and embrace, feel them, and just enjoy all the colors and textures. I think, " Hmmm, I need to use these and roll them up again."

<dalis> how do you take care of all those already made cards that people send you?

<Jambalaya> ah good question dalis

<purpledia> Oh, man, and what about cards etc from swaps?

<dalis> and tags!

<stmpqueen> I have a big pile of them on a shelf LOL

<Jambalaya> and all the pins and trading cards from conventions and stuff

<BlackCats> yes! do y'all keep all of your cards, etc, or do you reuse them whole or in parts?

<purpledia> I have them in shoe boxes, but I need the space for stamping supplies!

<stmpqueen> give them to a newbie!

<twodog> Swap ones i'm keeping go in a 3-ring binder - others i recycle to a friend who doesn't make cards, but likes to send lots of them.

<dalis> I used to reuse them until someone told me that was not nice....

<Judy> that's a good idea!

<Jambalaya> full cards if blank, could be donated to an old folks home

<Star> that's a good idea, Jam

<purpledia> Good idea, Jambalaya!

<Phyl> and they really love them

<Phyl> we do a contest on one of the grups and she gives the cards to the elderly ladies

<purpledia> I'll be sorting mine tonight!

<twodog> I would definitely want something I made to go to someone rather than get tossed.

<Jambalaya> yes

<Jambalaya> anything handmade should never be tossed

<dalis> that is what I think...

<Star> I just keep the ones with unique techniques or embelishments to give me ideas. The others I give to newbies who love taking them home for ideas

<Phyl> do we have any newbies in the group?

<purpledia> me too. Even the ones from swap that I hate; I can't bring myself to throw them away!

<Phyl> please send me your addy

<dalis> I have this stamp that I alwasys stamp on the back of my cards that says: "This is a hand made card.. if you toss it those same hands will make a doll in your name and stick pins to its butt...

<twodog> As my skill level progresses, I'll go through those I've kept and pass them on as well.

<Phyl> Hi ho Deanna

<Deanna> Hey Phyllis

<Jambalaya> hi Deanna

<Deanna> Hello every one

<deb> hi

<BlackCats> hi

<twodog> howdy

<Jambalaya> we're talking about organizing paper

<Deanna> How is our paper storage talk going?

<stampverb> I unearthed a stash of polymer clay swap stuff from maybe 10 years ago--why oh why was I keeping it all? much of it hopelessly crude by today's standards

<Bibi> lol

<dalis> LOL

<purpledia> How many use hanging files for full sheets of paper?

<Phyl> me

<Jambalaya> well, if it's jewelry, that might be good for the old folks home too

<purpledia> I mean full 8.5 x 11

<stampverb> full = what size?

<BlackCats> I do but that's not really working well anymore

<Deanna> coming in to check out so great ideas on organizing my stuff. I tomorrow move into my brand spanken new stamp room

<Jambalaya> i do purpledia

<twodog> I've had to go to more 12x12 since local stamp store doesn't carry much.

<Jambalaya> i have 3 four drawer cabinets

<Judy> doesn't the paper get bent in those files?

<cak> I don't, I always get a curve in 'em

<Phyl> very fortunate Deanna

<purpledia> why isn't it working, Blackcats?

<Jambalaya> nope

<Phyl> i keep the drawer full no room to bend

<Jambalaya> cak, you need more paper<g>

<BlackCats> too packed plus easy to bend the corners

<Jambalaya> hi pyromomma

<pyromomma> hi all

<Phyl> set any fires lately momma?

<pyromomma> I will just try to catch up

<pyromomma> har har

<BlackCats> I have to take something out to get into the drawer

<Jambalaya> everyone hide your paper<g>

<Phyl> quick

<BlackCats> I've been looking at the paper sorters at Office Depot lately

<Phyl> yes so have i

<dalis> bye everyone. I have to wake up early tomorrow, I'm going to a dog show that starts at 8am CST.

<Phyl> but i would need a zillion of those

<Jambalaya> nite dalis

<Phyl> bye dalis

<pyromomma> I promise, no burning paper tonight, though that would organize it.

<cak> night dalis

<Jambalaya> and i don't want paper out in the open

<Judy> lol

<purpledia> Yeah, paper sorters only work if you have a limited number of paper types

<BlackCats> nite, dalis

<dalis> nite nite...

<prplrose4> goodnight everyone

<Jambalaya> light, dust would discolor it

<Phyl> night purpl

<BlackCats> but the would work well for basic colors and ease up room in the hanging files for the printed, etc, type papers

<BlackCats> they

<ezjourney> Bye Jambalaya thanks

<Jambalaya> bye ez

<BlackCats> nite, ez

<purpledia> Yes, good for basic papers. Still have dust problem though...

<Phyl> specially in the desert

<Phyl> hey hey rabbit

<Jambalaya> now i do keep the ream of plain white cs out, cuz i use it constantly

<R-Rabbit> hi all

<Jambalaya> hiya rabb

<twodog> Hey is that you Rubber Rabbit?

<R-Rabbit> yes it is

<pyromomma> hi rabbit

<Star> in my closet I have stacked those file drawers that you buy at office supplies. I have several stacked and put favorite papers in them like glossy, creme coat, watercolor, etc. That works well for groups of cardstock

<Jambalaya> we're discussing paper storage

<twodog> We met in Grapevine - I'm Pam!

<R-Rabbit> Hi Pam!

<R-Rabbit> well, I have my paper pretty well organized

<twodog> Nice to "see" you again!

<Phyl> tell us rabbit

<stampverb> hi Rabbit

<R-Rabbit> so I came by to offer suggestions

<R-Rabbit> hey verby

<Star> ok, you go girl

<pyromomma> I put all my fancy paper in one of those file drawers

<Jambalaya> well tell us

<R-Rabbit> I have two document sorters of the variety you find in office supply stores

<pyromomma> then try to keep a low supply of other staock to keep it fresh

<R-Rabbit> stacked on top of each other

<R-Rabbit> The top document sorter is labeled by color

<pyromomma> the narrow doc sorters are good for that

<R-Rabbit> and if I have a ream (which will fit in one of those) sorter slots

<R-Rabbit> it gets its own slot

<Phyl> are these plastic or chipboard rabbit

<Star> but aren't those limited to 9 x 11?

<R-Rabbit> chipboard Phyl

<Phyl> thanks

<R-Rabbit> it is limited to 9x11 which is most of what I use

<pyromomma> yeah star, I can see where 12x12 would be tough to store

<purpledia> 12 x 12 paper is annoying.

<R-Rabbit> but I have three boxes for 12x12

<R-Rabbit> they're plastic files

<R-Rabbit> with handles and inside they have dividers

<R-Rabbit> so I have them divided by color family too

<twodog> That's what I use for my favorites

<BlackCats> the expanding files you can get a scrapbook stores, and BTW at Office Depot, are great for 12x12

<pyromomma> Those flat file drawers (5-6 in a stack) at Office Depot and Staples will hold the 12x12

<R-Rabbit> sorting by color is the easiest way to store things

<purpledia> I have a few of the plastic holders (about 1 inch thick) with handles, but soon they won't be enough.

<pyromomma> If you get the clear ones you can see the papers inside

<pyromomma> just keep out of direct sunlight

<R-Rabbit> well you get a shelf and start lining them up like books

<purpledia> what flat file drawers at office depot?

<twodog> I found it helped me to put the contrasting colors next to each other. The red file, then the green/the blue file then the orange, etc.

<pyromomma> they are called Clearly by Iris.

<Star> the plastic handled thingies?

<purpledia> I've only seen iris carts that are too small

<R-Rabbit> Actually a good labelmaker is even more helpful

<pyromomma> They are a stand-up 'file ' cabinent

<Jambalaya> yes rabbit

<Jambalaya> labels are essential

<R-Rabbit> and a small notebook of where you bought each stack of cardstock

<pyromomma> but they have flat drawers and not hanging files

<purpledia> plastic handled thingies = like a plastic expanding file but with a flap cover and a little plastic handle on top.

<R-Rabbit> since there is NOTHING more frustrating than to get halfway through a project and run out of a color and you can't remember where you got it or what it is called

<Jambalaya> hi b-52

<Phyl> question for you guys, how come purple glossy is so hard to find?

<purpledia> Got them at local memory book store.

<purpledia> Hey good question

<R-Rabbit> because purple is so hard a dye to make

<Jambalaya> phyl, the same reason anything purple is hard to find

<R-Rabbit> and purple is a very transient color (it fades very quickly)

<twodog> Yes, I agree Rabbit, but I'd never keep that notebook straight. LOL

<Phyl> well that is terrible

<pyromomma> The one that I am looking at has drawers that are 12 5/8 inches by 15 3/8 inches

<R-Rabbit> just keep the receipts for your paper

<pyromomma> (32 x 39 cm)

<R-Rabbit> or get PageSage which is what I use to track stuff

<purpledia> thanks pyromomma I will look for them

<twodog> Then I'll have to hide it from dh!

<R-Rabbit> that's easier--just put it in with the stamps

<BlackCats> I've gotta go. see y'all tomorrow. have a good night, everyone.

<R-Rabbit> dh will never look there

<Phyl> night bc

<Jambalaya> nite monica

<pyromomma> I got mine on sale for 6 drawers style for $14 or so

<twodog> lol

<purpledia> pyromomma - are the drawer bottoms flat?

<pyromomma> yes, flat bottoms

<Star> the large size ones??? I need to find the

<purpledia> Thanks I will look for them!

<Star> find them...where did you say, pryomomma?

<twodog> The clothes are refusing to get themselves out of the dryer.

<pyromomma> the one that I like has 6 drawers and they are the size above, but about 4 inches high

<Star> selfish clothes

<R-Rabbit> they'll probably refuse to fold themselves, too, Pam

<pyromomma> Office Max, Office Depot and Staples

<twodog> Night Rabbit. Night all! Hope to see you all at convention tomorrow!

<Star> just stick them in the stamP DRAWERS

<R-Rabbit> night

<twodog> That's for sure, Rabbit!

<pyromomma> Ask for the Clearly Iris ones, they are clear plastic

<Jambalaya> we'll be here!

<purpledia> yeah, me too

<Star> ok, ty

<Jambalaya> hi annie

<Phyl> gotta go feed the furballs guys see ya all tomorrow

<Annie> Hello

<R-Rabbit> night Phyl

<Phyl> night rr

<R-Rabbit> Hi annie

<Jambalaya> nite phyl

<pyromomma> There is a 5 drawer one that has 3 4 ich deep and 2 6 inch deep odrawers

<Phyl> nite jam thanks

<purpledia> I gotta go, too. Is this stuff archived anywhere?

<Star> nite

<Jambalaya> it will be

<Jambalaya> cak is logging

<R-Rabbit> I think there is going to be a log site

<Jambalaya> on the main site go to class logs

<Star> So, is this the first day of the convention?

<pyromomma> Sorry I got here late, sounds like it was a great discussion

<R-Rabbit> one of the hardest things to find are all the bits and pieces

<Jambalaya> it is star

<R-Rabbit> I keep mine sorted by color in boxes

<purpledia> cool. I'll keep an eye out for the logs. I'm new to this chat stuff. Clearly need to learn to type faster.

<Star> yea, I didn't forget this time

<cak> they'll be up on the unedited page. If you just can't wait, email me at cak@dm.net

<Jambalaya> yes scraps can be a real pain

<R-Rabbit> they fit into the slots of the document sorter

<Sonia> I'm late! Hello everyone!

<Jambalaya> hi sonia

<R-Rabbit> when a box gets full it is time to start a project and use them up!

<cak> (make sure you come to Kriz's chat chat--very helpful)

<Star> do you stack your document sorters up a wall?

<pyromomma> I have 2 expandable files for scraps. If they do not fit in there, I have to toss them or use them up. So I use them...makes me think and experiment

<pyromomma> yep, don;t squirrel those papers away, use them up!

<Judy> best idea of the night, pyromomma!

<Jambalaya> yep, then you can justify buying more<g>

<Star> a favorite game I play is to get out my big bin of scraps and embellishments and squares of stamped items and just play. Those are my best designs.

<R-Rabbit> no use to hoard

<R-Rabbit> best thing to do with new fancy paper is to cut it in half and start using one half of it

<R-Rabbit> you buy stuff because it gets your brain going

<pyromomma> LOL, it does allow you to get more!!!

<R-Rabbit> so use it right away while your idea is fresh

<Star> so true, but so hard

<Sonia> I have tons of scraps in clear top loading sheets sorted by colors. They can be kept in binders. However, I never get around to using them, tough.

<R-Rabbit> well if you cut it in half, you can 'hoard' half

<pyromomma> 1/2 paper good idea, rabbit

<Jambalaya> once you make that first tear, the rest is easy<g>

<R-Rabbit> and I always take a sample of all my fancy paper

<R-Rabbit> about 3x4 and label it immediately

<R-Rabbit> so I can take it along if I go paper shopping

<Star> I think that is my biggest problem after a convention. I have all these new papers and ideas and organize all the new stuff and then I forget how to use it

<pyromomma> I am on an Asian paper jag right now and am having a ball using it up.

<pyromomma> But the hardest part is the first cut or tear, that is for sure

<R-Rabbit> part of my organizing and putting away is to cut up the paper and keep it in my sample book

<Sonia> Yes...Asian paper. I do hate to cut them up too!

<R-Rabbit> so that first cut is part of the process of putting it away

<Star> so you put all those samples in a three ring binder?

<Judy> the rest is easy to cut after that?

<R-Rabbit> one hole and keep it on a ring

<R-Rabbit> I label the back of the paper

<R-Rabbit> with a paper label and the price

<Star> oh, you just punch the pretty paper and slip it on the ring?

<pyromomma> Just spent the nightplaying with them while watching the tube, now I have a pile of scraps to collage with tmorrow...my hardest thing to do is collage

<R-Rabbit> yep

<Judy> you could use that to decide what you need to use also

<R-Rabbit> a sample book is MUCH easier to flip through than a whole flat folder of paper

<Star> that's a great idea....since part of the fun is just looking at those papers

<R-Rabbit> I do the same with cardstock

<Sonia> Good idea...also the vendor's name, perhaps? I forget who I order specialty papers sometimes.

<R-Rabbit> yep--name of the paper if it has one; stock number if it has one, price I paid, size of sheet and who the vendor was

<Judy> good ideas, everyone! Thanks! Will see yu tomorrow!

<R-Rabbit> sometimes I'll find the same paper someplace else cheaper

<Judy> nite!

<R-Rabbit> night judy

<Sonia> Good night!

<R-Rabbit> it was a habit I got into when I got PageSaged

<pyromomma> rabbit, good idea for those favorite and hard to get mail-order sheets...thanks

<pyromomma> I use paper from everyehere

<Star> oh, R-Rabbit, you are so organized. HOw do you get your left and right side of your brain to both work for you? u?

<R-Rabbit> the left side gets turned off and on depending on what I am doing

<R-Rabbit> the right side is on when it is time to record stuff

<Star> oh, lucky lady

<R-Rabbit> well, I have triggers

<pyromomma> I gave up on that a long time ago. I would love to be that organized, but then I have no time to play.

<stampverb> thanks, Jam, for good discussion! see ya

<R-Rabbit> music, movies and looking at books

<Jambalaya> thanks for coming verb

<pyromomma> I envy those that are the organizer types, though

<R-Rabbit> well Art Impressions came out with a new stamp that describes me

<pyromomma> what is it?

<R-Rabbit> organized people are too lazy to look for things

<R-Rabbit> which is true for me

<pyromomma> LOL!!!!

<pyromomma> I have to get that for my buddy

<R-Rabbit> if I have to look for something my desire to play with it is entirely shot

<pyromomma> I am more of a 'out of sight out of mind" person

<R-Rabbit> so that is why I keep little books of papers to flip through

<Star> me too, but if I get too anal and linear, I loose my zone of creativity

<R-Rabbit> and samples of inks to choose from

<pyromomma> which leads to buying duplicats at tiumes

<Sonia> I'll have to try that ring thing. Thanks for the idea! Bye!

<R-Rabbit> so I can sit down and just flip around stuff to see what I want to play with

<pyromomma> by sonia

<Jambalaya> duplicates aren't necessarily a bad thing, it makes you more apt to use one<g>

<pyromomma> I just try to keep my sotck of paper small, otherwise it gets out of hand.

<pyromomma> Now stamps and inks, THAT is where I lose control

<pyromomma> True, Jam

<pyromomma> I do like that 'use 1/2 " idea.

<Jambalaya> NEXT EVENT IS MIDNIGHT MADNESS IN #cyberstampers
