<BlackCats> I'll start over again in a few minutes

<Jambalaya> wow bc, you keep track of what cards you sent to who??????

<Tarotmama> bc?

<BlackCats> yes, Jambalaya

<Tarotmama> you send stuff?

<Tarotmama> for real?

<AndreaFL> BC, I try to do that, too...

* Jambalaya bows to BlackCats greatness

<BlackCats> I've been known to send the same card to someone more than once <G>

<Tarotmama> i mean after you make it?

<AndreaFL> at least I try to make notes on my RAK lists

<wezz> are you fishing Tarotmama????

<wezz> for a card???? LOL

<BlackCats> rather embarrassing

<Tarotmama> no, wezz

<Tarotmama> I'm shocked

<Tarotmama> I have a stack of cards and thngs that are addressed

<wezz> yeah right

<Tarotmama> but I don't SEND them

<BlackCats> lol, well, send em out, tm

<Tarotmama> I just look at the stack

<wezz> oh but you should!! just pop them in the mail!!!

<Tarotmama> oobc, that's WAY too easy

<AndreaFL> BC, what I find embarrassing is when someone in one of my groups gets a card and asks publicly how I made it...and I havne't the foggiest idea what I sent...

<Tarotmama> let my babies go?

<BlackCats> ok, let's take a quick bio break

<BlackCats> yes!

<wezz> uh, I have that same problem too andrea!!

<Tarotmama> they might get lost!

<BlackCats> oh, yes, andrea

<Beezy> maybe we coukd start a penpal card share??

<BlackCats> that has happened to me too

<wezz> I should try to keep track of what I send, to whom, and how i made it

<wezz> big task

<wezz> LOL

<Beezy> the digital camera is good for that

<BlackCats> that's why I finally started keeping track of STUFF

<Tarotmama> i think we need this class bc

<Jambalaya> ok, y'all, this is a discussion class so feel free to join in

<AndreaFL> so know I make a small note when I sent next to their name, and what card I sent

<BlackCats> ok, we ready to start or does anyone need to go p....?

<wezz> I'm in the process of scanning everything now, but of course, that's only for the cards that I still have here

<cak> I'm only going to be able to ask questions, considering the state of my stuff

<AndreaFL> LOL

<BlackCats> or grab a drink or anything?

<cak> Hiya Judy

<AndreaFL> i NEED TO GO TURN THE LIGHT ON.....

<BlackCats> hi, judy

<AndreaFL> and take off my caps lock

<wezz> what's a penpal card share???

<Judy> hi, all

<Beezy> its just an idea ive had

<wezz> hi judy!

<BlackCats> we'll start in about 5 minutes, ok?

<Judy> hi, wezz!

<Beezy> for me it would be more do-able then having to make 5-8 cards at a time

<AndreaFL> oh good, enough time to take a 7th inning stretch

<BlackCats> yes, that's the idea, andrea

<Carolyn> I'm a lost cause when it comes to organizing my craft items. I do make notes of the cards I send as RAKS but not always how I made them.

<AndreaFL> Beezy, I'm not good at making multiples of the same card....drives me nuts

<BlackCats> you've gotta get up outta the chair once in a while or you get stuck <G>

<Carolyn> I get bored making the same design, too

<Beezy> and the pressure halts my creative enjoyment

<Beezy> i just thought it woukd be a neat way to make stamp buddies

<wezz> I try to make about 5-7 of the same as I have the supplies out on the table. Do note I said TRY

<wezz> LOL

<Carolyn> I'll be back....but need a snack break

<Beezy> and have to make at least a few new cards a month:)

<AndreaFL> wezz....with the condition of my workspace, I don't have ROOM to make 5 or 7 of anything...LOL

<Beezy> :)

<BlackCats> I'm in a high volume card swap club

<Beezy> and my cats always invade the middle of my table

<AndreaFL> I actually did better on that during the hurricanes...had to use the dining room table, could spread out more

<BlackCats> so when I work up a design I generally do a bunch at a time

<wezz> well, andrea, since my workspace is the kitchen table it actually does make more sense for me to make a few of the same cards in one go

<BlackCats> yes, once you've got everything out and have a stamp inked up

<wezz> otherwise I'd have a clean up and than have to get all the stuff out again...

<BlackCats> it makes sense to do more than one

<AndreaFL> wezz, yes, it does...parto of my problem is my work space seems to be growing in on me...LOL

<BlackCats> or at least stamp a whole page of the image

<wezz> oh yeah, that too!

<BlackCats> then cut and color or whatever as you need them

<Beezy> thats a good idea black cats

<AndreaFL> that's what I did during the storms, since I only had a very short time of daylight to stamp stuff off

<BlackCats> I have several of those small photo saver things

<Jambalaya> i always stamp several images at a time, no matter what i'm doing with one

<BlackCats> with the divided sections

<Jambalaya> hi pat

<wezz> I'm gonna (notice future tense here) index my stamps and plan to stamp some extra in a journal so I have some images to color or work with without having all the other stuff out too

<pmstamper> hi there

<BlackCats> I'll stamp a whole bunch of images on white cardstock

<Jambalaya> hi aussiecra

<BlackCats> then cut the layers, etc,

<Beezy> hi aussie

<wezz> hi aussiecra

<BlackCats> and keep them all together in the photo saver until I need them

<BlackCats> ok, already kinda started

<AndreaFL> BC and Vicki..do you do that in waterproof ink, in case you decide to use different coloring media?

<BlackCats> but are we ready to start?

<aussiecra> Hi all - I am new to this online class thingy so please excuse any strange things or odd questions :)

<Beezy> really good idea black

<wezz> yep, sometimes i cut layers for about an hour, so I have them ready to work with

<Jambalaya> yes, i almost always use permanent ink

<Beezy> you will fit right in aussie

<AndreaFL> aussie, don't worry, I'm already the strang ething in here...LOL

<cak> we welcome odd questions! Leads to the most entertaining discussions

<wezz> (not that I will have the exact color that I need then of course)

<Beezy> :)

<Jambalaya> because my favorite medium is watercolor

<BlackCats> OR I EMBOSS MY IMAGE

<AndreaFL> Vicki, me too

<BlackCats> THAT WAY YOU CAN STILL USE WATERCOLORS

<Jambalaya> hi dee

<BlackCats> OR ANYTHING ELSE

<cak> Hiya dee

<wezz> you andrea??? and all this time I thought it was me............

<wezz> LOL

<cak> (btw, this is a discussion class, so jump right in)

<AndreaFL> wezz..maybe we are twins separated at birth

<BlackCats> WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS CLASS IS KEEPING TRACK OF ALL OF YOUR STUFF

<wezz> haha!!

<BlackCats> SUPPLIES

<BlackCats> EVER GOTTEN THE SAME INKPAD MORE THAN ONCE?

<wezz> there will be a log of this right???? I will neeeeeeed it afterwards!!!

* Jambalaya knows where most of her STUFF is

<Tarotmama> that's bad bc?

<wezz> LOL!!

<BlackCats> LOL

<BlackCats> WELL, IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT

<Tarotmama> wezz, are you on irc?

<cak> yep, I'm logging right now

<wezz> nope

<BlackCats> OR WILL USE THAT MUCH OF THE SAME THING

<Tarotmama> on the web?

<Tarotmama> i can tell you ow to log this

<wezz> but I think cak can send me the transcript??

<aussiecra> what furniture do you recommend? I have got myself a room with lots of stuff on the floor....

<BlackCats> BUT ISN'T IT MUCH BETTER TO GET SOMETHING NEW RATHER THAN SOMETHING YOU ALREADY HAVE?

<Jambalaya> hey i have a tip, when you buy inkpads, just buy every color at once, so you don't have to guess later

<cak> definitely BC

<BlackCats> THERE ARE A LOT OF DIFFERENT WAYS TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR STUFF

<Judy> lol jam

<BlackCats> LOL, JAM

<cak> lol--good one Jamba

<pmstamper> lol, Jam must be a lottery winner

<BlackCats> THAT'S A GIVEN

<AndreaFL> Vicki..may I have a grafting off your money tree? LOL

<wezz> I'm in the chat through the internet, not mirc or whatever

<Jambalaya> there's a method behind my madness<g>

<BlackCats> HI, MILES

<Tarotmama> bravo miles

<miles> hello

<Beezy> hi miles

<wezz> so can I log this myself???

<BlackCats> I HAPPEN TO USE THE PageSage SOFTWARE TO KEEP TRACK OF MY SUPPLIES

<Beezy> hi KYC

<BlackCats> BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF DIFFERENT SYSTEMS OUT THERE

<cak> so much of it depends on how you work, I've found. (not that I'm organized by any means)

<miles> Oh my supplies

<BlackCats> EVEN JUST A HANDWRITTEN NOTEPAD WILL DO

<KYCrafter> Hello y'all!

<Beezy> what is page sage software??

<BlackCats> ANYONE USE ANY OTHER KIND OF SOFTWARE?

<wezz> yes

<miles> I need to be more organized

<wezz> a pencil and paper

<BlackCats> IT IS A SOFTWARE DESIGNED FOR STAMPERS

<pmstamper> hi KYCrafter

<AndreaFL> wezz...lol

<Jambalaya> i've kept a binder from the start, all stamps get stamped in it as i get them

<BlackCats> YOU CAN TRACK YOUR SUPPLIES

<KYCrafter> Can we organized an Organization club?

<Jambalaya> and all supplies are recorded

<BlackCats> AND ALSO YOUR ARTWORK

<aussiecra> Does anyone keep a stamp catalogue - with groupings like flower, asian, words etc? Thinking about it myself..

<BlackCats> WHAT CARDS, ETC YOU MAKE

<Carolyn> I use good old Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets for a lot of my tracking

<miles> I am always looking for certain things

<BlackCats> THAT WORKS TOO, CAROLYN

<cak> I keep a notebook of my stamps by manufacturer, but store them by topic

<miles> Its my storing thats bad

<Judy> started out with a stamp catalogue, but gave up on it hundreds of stamps ago

<wezz> lol

<pmstamper> I like that feature of PageSage, you can generate a how to of your pieces

<BlackCats> I STOPPED TRYING TO LOG MY STAMPS

<Carolyn> AND I group my stamps by category. That system has changed a lot. I started out by company but that didn't last for long. It is a lot easier to pull out stamps by theme.

<BlackCats> NOW I JUST KEEP TRACK OF SUPPLIES

<aussiecra> I went crazy when I was in France for 2 years so have tonnes of unmounteds -no idea what I have!!

<KYCrafter> Question ... even if you have it organized in a book or in software, how do you find it in your stash later?

<cak> because of the volume BC?

<BlackCats> AND WHAT CARDS I SEND TO WHOM

<miles> I group by category also

<Jambalaya> aussiecra, please keep color set to black

<BlackCats> AH, GOOD QUESTION, KY

<BlackCats> YES, CAK

<Carolyn> I also keep all of my verses together and I do a lot of oriental stamping so oriental words are keep separate too.

<aussiecra> ok

<BlackCats> EVERYONE JUST HAS TO WORK OUT THEIR OWN ORGANIZATIONAL STYLE, KY

<BlackCats> LABELS ARE GREAT HELP

<Beezy> lots of stamp stiores in France Aussie???

<wezz> yeah, but it seems they are conflicting.....

<miles> When I finish a big stamp project then I start cleaning up my stuff and reorganizing

<aussiecra> No - I bouth a tonne online as Euros are worth more than Aussie dollars..

<AndreaFL> KY, I label my iris cart drawers for my mounteds and my notebooks for UMs, by theme or topic

<wezz> like a zebra striped background, which goes perfectly with african stamps

<BlackCats> YES, THAT REALLY HELPS, ANDREA

<pmstamper> I have sorted my mounted stamps into small three drawer containers and then bought a shelf system to store the containers in KYC.

<miles> Hey good idea

<wezz> do I keep it in backgrounds or african??

<AndreaFL> hi MM

<Beezy> good idea aussie

<BlackCats> AH, YOU'RE GETTING INTO CROSSREFERENCING THERE

<miles> I need to label

<wezz> uh, yeah?? I guess???

<MonkeyMom> is there a url for this chat?

<KYCrafter> I get caught up in organizing and labeling and sorting and regrouping, etc., and never seem to get in enough crafting time

<miles> How can you lose your heat Gun

<cak> where would you look for it first if you needed it? that's where to store it

<Carolyn> A label maker is a MUST. It helped me out a lot,

<Jambalaya> i keep stamps in basic categories

<AndreaFL> wezz...I tend to keep my background stamps together, since they are all larger and easier to find that way

<aussiecra> Is it hard to start? I would probably have lots of hundreds *wince* post buying spree...

<BlackCats> LOL

<BlackCats> IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A LOT OF STUFF

<miles> I did once and searched everywhere for my heat gun

<wezz> yeah, if they are versatile enough to be used in different settings like the zebra stripes, but what about a scenery with pyramids??

<BlackCats> AND HAVEN'T STARTED TRYING TO KEEP TRACK OF IT SOMEHOW

<Jambalaya> MonkeyMom, this is a discussion class, no url

<AndreaFL> miles, if you keep the heatgun turned on, I guaraty you that you won't lose it..maybe the house, but not the gun

<BlackCats> START WITH SOMETHING LIKE YOUR INKPADS

<wezz> does that go into backgrounds, scenery or egyptian???

<miles> LOL

<miles> good one

<BlackCats> THEN DO THINGS BY CATEGORY

<BlackCats> THEN DO YOUR STAMPS

<KYCrafter> I label plastic boxes into themes, but canoot figure out where to store stuff that crosses the line

<Tarotmama> wezz, anything egyptian can be sent to me, my name is ISIS

<BlackCats> BUT THAT IS JUST THE WAY I'VE DONE IT

<BlackCats> YOU MIGHT FIND THAT YOU HAVE A WAY THAT WORKS BETTER FOR YOU

<wezz> I love egyptian too, Isis!!

<Tarotmama> lol

<Tarotmama> darn

<miles> I have so much ribbon

<wezz> and asian, and grecian, and and .... LOL

<Tarotmama> thought I had a hot one

<aussiecra> How do you do your inkpads? Keep a catlogue with each colour stamped?

<AndreaFL> Tarot...rofl

<BlackCats> I DO MINE BY COMPANY

<BlackCats> THE PROGRAM I USE SORTS THAT WAY IF I CHOOSE

* Jambalaya has made the observation, that our real hobbie is organizing

<AndreaFL> I do my inkpads first by pigment vs dye, then by company

<miles> mine are by dye and pigments and then colors

<wezz> LOL Jam!!!

<BlackCats> THEN ALL OF THE SAY...OPALITES...ARE TOGETHER IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER

<cak> I do mine by color, since that's what's most important. I'm looking for a yellow pad first, then the type of ink

<pmstamper> It is good to have a paper catalog of your own stuff for those cross over ones, I find. You then can look at catalog, and pull the stamps you want (if you note in the book what box they are in.)

<anno> I put mine where they fit. :)

<AndreaFL> Vicki, my hobby is disorganizing...

<KYCrafter> My inkpads are stacked on shelves in front of my stamping counter ... grouped by type ... grouped by company ... name written on the end

<cak> (what's most important to me, that is)

<Jambalaya> lol

<miles> Andrea we think alike

<anno> more likely to sort by inkpad size and shape than anything else.

<Jambalaya> but see, everytime you buy new stuff, you have to re-organize to find it a home

<KYCrafter> I agree Jambalaya

<miles> I have no more room

<wezz> uh, my inkpad are on an open shelf in the living room.... only place i have for them

<Beezy> Andrea would you like to come to California and organize me??:)

<AndreaFL> miles, you may find that a scary thought...LOL

<AndreaFL> Beezy...if I can find my way out of the craft area...LOL

<miles> Breezy I am in Ca

<cak> that's why libraries try to have about at least a quarter of the shelf free--to allow for growth

<KYCrafter> What do you all do with magazines?

<wezz> another question, how do you organize your fibers????

<Beezy> where?

<BlackCats> FIBERS

<miles> Redding

<wezz> I mean, the ones you get by the skein???

<Beezy> im in Joshua Tree

<BlackCats> WHAT I USE ARE THE 1/2 SIZE SANDWICH BAGS

<wezz> not the little short ends

<Tarotmama> I'm in mendocino county

<BlackCats> PUNCH A SMALL HOLE IN THE CORNER

<Jambalaya> i have a whole walk in closet for fibers<g>

<miles> Now where is that?

<Beezy> 45m NE of Palm Springs

<AndreaFL> wezz, my fibres are all in one drawer of my tool case that dh gave me

<BlackCats> THEN GROUP LIKE COLORS TOGETHER ON 'D' RINGS

<miles> ok

<cak> (no, no Jamba! those are *clothes* not fibers!)

<AndreaFL> rofl

<Beezy> black thats a fabulous method

<wezz> I can't possibly get them in one drawer....

<Judy> lol, cak

<Tarotmama> depends cak

<BlackCats> THAT WAY WHEN I WANT A YELLOW..ISH FIBER

<Jambalaya> no they aren't cak

<miles> You know where Redding is?

<wezz> probably not even in one cupboard

<aussiecra> The fibre thing sounds good - but where do you store them then?

<BlackCats> I HAVE ONE GROUP OF BAGS TO GRAB

<BlackCats> WELL, I AM VERY FORTUNATE

<BlackCats> MY DH USED TO BE A MECHANIC

<AndreaFL> ahhh...BC is passing out grab bags!

<miles> I have a whole drawer of fibers by colors

<Jambalaya> they could be someday, if i ever get back to crocheting

<BlackCats> AND I HAVE INHERITED HIS UNUSED TOOL BOXES

<BlackCats> THE ROLLING KIND

<cak> lol Jamba

<wezz> ooh!!! good hubbie!!

<cak> wow! cool hand-me-down

<BlackCats> WITH LOTS OF LITTLE DRAWERS AND A TOP THAT OPENS

<miles> wow

<BlackCats> MY FIBERS THAT ARE STORED IN BAGS ARE IN ONE OF THE TOPS

<AndreaFL> BC, that's the same kind of tool case dh gave me...

<BlackCats> NOW RIBBONS ARE ANOTHER MATTER

<Beezy> does anyone use th tool boxes with varying little drawers??

<aussiecra> Wow - and space to put them too huh?

<BlackCats> NICE, AREN'T THEY, ANDREA?

<Tarotmama> i do beezy

<Beezy> how do you use them tarot?

<AndreaFL> BC, yup...good for larger groups of things I don't need right in front of me

<BlackCats> RIBBONS I KEEP ON HANGERS

<cak> I do too, for findings mostly

<wezz> no beezy, I tried that but keep loosing things and end up buying the same thing over and over again.... LOL

<wezz> hangers???

<miles> that would work good

<pmstamper> describe how that works please Blackcats

<BlackCats> I HAVE ONE OF THE TOP BOXES FOR MY INKPADS

<wezz> like clothes hangers??

<aussiecra> What do you do with embossing powders & glotters & stuff like that?

<Tarotmama> beezy I have a bead buzness too

<aussiecra> Ooops glitters I mean

<KYCrafter> How do you get the ribbon spools on hangers?

<Tarotmama> so they are for findings and beads

<AndreaFL> I'm still waiting for dh to build me the special ribbon case that he promised about 12 years ago

<BlackCats> OH, NOT SPOOLS, KY

<miles> I love beading

<Beezy> the would be great for that

<BlackCats> I DON'T USUALLY BUY SPOOLS

<BlackCats> JUST BY THE YARD(s)

<Jambalaya> all my embossing powders are in the plastic sandwich boxes, which stack nicely

<Tarotmama> small stuff in transparent boxes is great

<wezz> uh, mine are mostly spools

<Tarotmama> plus I built a holder for thos so I can cart them around

<KYCrafter> me too wezz

<AndreaFL> aussie, my ep is in small jars I put in tackle boxes, and I keep silicone packets in them

<BlackCats> FOR SPOOLS, I STORE THOSE IN PLASTIC SHOE BOXES

<Tarotmama> I found a place online that seels put together carboad racks for inkpads

<BlackCats> TACKLE BOXES ARE GREAT FOR SMALL STUFF

<Tarotmama> for $10 each

<KYCrafter> BlackCats ... how do you attach the pieces to the hanger so they don't fall off? Clothes pins?

<wezz> silicone packets, huh??? I knew I have kept these for a good reason!! Thanks andrea!!

<AndreaFL> except for my clear, which I keep in a large spice shaker on my worktop

<AndreaFL> welcome

<miles> does the silicone help keep fresh

<BlackCats> YES, OR LOOP IT OVER AND PUT A STRAIGHT PIN THROUGH EDGE

<Judy> miles - it keeps moisture out of EP

<Tarotmama> how do people store punches?

<aussiecra> The spice shaker idea sounds cool! And do I need to get silicone packets now? I never thought of it!

<KYCrafter> Ahhh, I see

<BlackCats> YES, MILES

<AndreaFL> wezz, I also keep a few silicone packets in my copying machine paper drawer, because all this stuff is in my garage, no A/C

<wezz> random, Tarotmama....

<BlackCats> ALSO, LOTS OF VITAMINS AND SUCH HAVE LITTLE CANISTERS IN THEM

<Jambalaya> silica packets, or dessicants, keep ep dry and helps it not to tarnish

<AndreaFL> aussie, silicone packets often come with new shoes?

<wezz> I haven't gotten around to storing these in a decent way yet

<BlackCats> THOSE ARE ALSO SILICONE

<miles> Yes new purses

<wezz> so far how they fit in the box... LOL

<cak> I got lucky and inherited a couple of small metal flat files from my mom. I use one drawer for punches and scissors, one for stencils and one for templates

<BlackCats> IF YOU LIVE IN A MOIST CLIMATE KEEPING THINGS DRY IS A MUST

<KYCrafter> Anybody got any good ideas for storing spools of ribbon?

<Jambalaya> and you can ask your pharmacist to save them for you, they come in large bottles of pills, and they just toss them

<AndreaFL> my punches are in a jumble in one large drawer of an iris cart..along with brayers, etc

<BlackCats> PLASTIC SHOE BOXES

<MonkeyMom> small dowel rods

<cak> I just have a small dowel

<cak> (you and me MM)

<MonkeyMom> yep

<miles> good idea

<aussiecra> I am lucky - Canberra has very low humidity

<BlackCats> OH, FOR PUNCHES

<Jambalaya> my spools of ribbon are in cardboard bankers boxes behind my iris carts

<BlackCats> I FOUND A NEAT THING IN THE HARDWARE STORE

<miles> I need more punches

<MonkeyMom> share

<KYCrafter> MonkeyMom and cak ... dowels? Are they attached to anything on the ends?

<Carolyn> Ink pads -- I keep mine in tool cases. The case as a clear plastic lid and will hold about 30 or more pads. I have one case for dye and chalk inks and one for pigment. They are like a suitcase and stand nicely by the side of my craft table. I got mine at Home Depot. There are about 14 little sections just perfect for the pads.

<AndreaFL> waiting patiently

<BlackCats> SORTA LIKE A FLAT CASE WITH A HANDLE MOLDED INTO IT

<BlackCats> TOP IS CLEAR PLASTIC

<Tarotmama> I have a LOT of punches, which I stgore in the handled trays that painters use for tools

<Tarotmama> they stack

<BlackCats> AND HAS MOVABLE DIVIDERS EVERY 2-3 INCHES

<AndreaFL> CAroly, that is EXACTLY how I store my inkpads

<Tarotmama> and I can carry them to my task table

<cak> I placed mine across the top of a little storage bin, but I don't have all that many

<miles> Need to look for a painter then

<wezz> handled trays for painting tools???

<Carolyn> Blackcats...you got it all right

<MonkeyMom> KY- I put eye screws in mine and then some yarn to hang them from the bottom of my stamp pad holder

<Tarotmama> yes, called painter's caddies

<Jambalaya> after i outgrew 4 of those zag cases, i gave up on them<g>

<KYCrafter> OK - thanks!

<BlackCats> HARDWARE STORES ARE YOUR FRIEND FOR ORGINAZATION

<Tarotmama> i use those to get my supplies togethr for anyh progects, too

<Tarotmama> that is my main problem

<miles> These are wonderful ideas

<Tarotmama> how to keep supplies organized while I use them

<Tarotmama> and PUT THEM BACK AFTER

<AndreaFL> okay...now..the problem items........gel pens and markers.....

<BlackCats> OR PUTTING THEM BACK WHERE THEY BELONG WHEN YOU'RE DONE

<Tarotmama> that's what I said monica

<MonkeyMom> pampered chef tool turn-a-bout

<Jambalaya> put them back???????????????????????????????????????

<AndreaFL> Vicki..rofl

<Tarotmama> it's my main boo boo

<BlackCats> ANDREA, I USE SILVERWARE CADDIES

<MonkeyMom> for the pens etc...

<BlackCats> HI, SANDRA

<AndreaFL> BC, so you store them tip up/down, not horizontally?

<BlackCats> WE'RE DISCUSSING KEEPING TRACK OF OUR STUFF

<wezz> putting things back is a problem

<Beezy> Hi Sandra

<MonkeyMom> I do, but I don't uset them a way lot

<AndreaFL> I think I was supposed to make dinner for inlaws about 35 minutes ago.......

<BlackCats> WELL, GEL PENS I KEEP IN A DRAWER

<wezz> by the time I'm done with them their space is filled with new stuff

<wezz> LOL

<BlackCats> BUT OTHER MARKERS I KEEP TIP DOWN

<Beezy> lol Andrea

<MonkeyMom> but for the felt.silicone tipped I DO keep them horizontally

<Judy> lol, Hile

<Judy> Hilde, even

<Sandra> Hi everyone

<Beezy> do they like Pizza??

<wezz> yes Judy!! :-))

<miles> Hello

<Tarotmama> here is what I have for my pens, etc.. I made a board that I put velcro dots ont in a row, and then put the other dots onto thick elastic

<Jambalaya> i keep all my pens flat in drawers

<AndreaFL> Beezy...they don't like much of anything except soup, I have to force them to eat anything more nutritious

<Tarotmama> the board has an easel back

<Beezy> oh boy

<BlackCats> I HAVE A NEW TOOL BOX GETTING READY TO BECOME MINE, MINE, MINE

<MonkeyMom> I have flat drawrs from stay in japan. desk top sized and I love them

<Tarotmama> and folds up to go in a drawer when I'm thru

<BlackCats> THEN I'LL HAVE A DRAWER FOR MY PENS

<Tarotmama> I really LOVE my pen board

<AndreaFL> I've about given up on gel pens...they never work when I need them to

<Tarotmama> I keep some scissors on it too

<MonkeyMom> that's the same for me

<AndreaFL> Tarot...that sounds really neat

<Tarotmama> it's easy andrea

<miles> Yes they dry up so fast

<BlackCats> GEL PENS NEED TO BE STORED FLAT

<Jambalaya> the gelly roll glaze pens WORK

<Beezy> Tarot i would love to see a picture of it

<pmstamper> yes, good idea

<Tarotmama> and chap

<miles> Love those

<AndreaFL> BC...NOW you tell me!

<BlackCats> AND I'VE HAD GOOD LUCK WITH KEEPING THEM IN A PLASTIC BAGGIE

<cak> yeah, how about a class on making one TM?

<BlackCats> THAT KEEPS THEM FROM DRYING OUT

<Tarotmama> LOL cak

<Tarotmama> ok

<BlackCats> IF YOU GET ONE THAT WON'T WRITE

<Beezy> cak i second that

<cak> keeps 'em from escaping too--those baggies are great

<BlackCats> INSTEAD OF SCRIBBLING TRYING TO GET IT STARTED

<miles> so put them in plastic baggy

<wezz> I store mine..... in a basket, but that's not the best way I've found though it looks good, gel pens are in a plastic box, markers too, pencils either in the basket or in their proper box, adn all this scattered throughout a few rooms....

<MonkeyMom> mine seem to have feet

<Tarotmama> I'll do it this convention when I talk about keeping a samples jopurnal

<BlackCats> PRESS THE TIP DOWN ON PAPER AND HOLD FOR A MINUTE

<BlackCats> THEN TRY TO WRITE

<Jambalaya> hey what a great idea for a class, all of you, send me scans and photos of systems you use

<Beezy> good

<AndreaFL> I was told once by a mfr that gel pens don't dry out because of the composition of the gel..but they do get jammed....don't know who to believe

<wezz> then there's waterpaint, acrylic paint, oil paint, my encaustic supplies (with the iron), etc....

<BlackCats> YES, ANDREA

<BlackCats> THE TIPS GET JAMMED

<cak> how hard to you have to press Jamba, just kinda or really hard?

<pmstamper> I've heard you can heat the end of a gel pen with a lit match, to get it started if it is uncooperative.

<BlackCats> AND PRESSING DOWN HELPS UNBLOCK THEM

<miles> oh I have to try that

<Tarotmama> pm that works

<Tarotmama> but be very careful

<BlackCats> SORTA MEDIUM HARD, CAK

<Tarotmama> the plastic pen part can melt

<cak> thanks!

<AndreaFL> well, I've really pressed mine....and they are very stubborn about giving up the ink...LOL

<BlackCats> ENOUGH TO MAKE A MARK BUT NOT POKE A HOLE <g>

<Beezy> or had it to a young child they dont mind shaking for an hour or 2

<MonkeyMom> nothin like a little 'splosion

<miles> lol what a mess

<pmstamper> I just took picture of all my stuff before I evacuated for hurricane, for insurance purposes. That is a recommendation I would make to everyone.

<Jambalaya> i have a foolproof method for regular gel pens too, try em a couple times then use them for target practice to the trash can<g>

<BlackCats> GOOD IDEA

<BlackCats> ACTUALLY, THAT'S ONE OF THE REASONS I USE THE PAGE SAGE PROGRAM

<miles> Lol

<Judy> lol, Jam - good idea

<wezz> good idea pm!

<AndreaFL> pm...if I took a picture of my craft area, the insurance agent would probably still be ROFL

<Beezy> lol JAm thats wheere my 24 boc from costco ended up

<BlackCats> IN CASE I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SAY JUST HOW MANY INKPADS I REALLY, TRULY HAVE <g>

<AndreaFL> Vicki...like that one

<MonkeyMom> I got page sage but it expected me to participate.... still waiting

<Jambalaya> lol, MonkeyMom

<Judy> lol

<BlackCats> LOL, MM

<Beezy> ROTFLING Monkey:)

<Tarotmama> you all know that Perfect Ink Refresher will rewetr dry markers and inkpads?

<miles> I need more memory for more programs

<Judy> mine is waiting also, MonkeyMom

<BlackCats> TAKES A BIT OF WORK BUT WORTH IT IN THE END, IMHO

<wezz> huh, andrea, I wouldn't take it of the places I keep the stuff, just take pics of the stuff itself... I wouldn't dare taking pics of the rest... LOL

<AndreaFL> yup..that's one of the reasons I bought it

<Beezy> tarot where do we find that??

<MonkeyMom> never heard of it

<MonkeyMom> good stuff?

<Tarotmama> great stuff

<Jambalaya> Stubby Stampers carries Perfect Ink Refresher

<wezz> works with markers too??????

<Tarotmama> i haven't thrown a marker away in a long time

<Carolyn> It's available from Ranger

<BlackCats> HOW DO Y'ALL KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PAPERS?

<miles> I need that stuff

<cak> poorly BC

<wezz> I didn't know that... not that i have it....

<Beezy> ty Jam

<BlackCats> LOL, CAK

<wezz> eeeek!!! something I don't have!!!

<Tarotmama> even makers where the top came off

<BlackCats> THAT IS SOMETHING I'M STILL STRUGGLING WITH

<miles> So Stumby has it?

<Tarotmama> and even very hard inkpads

<Beezy> I use a hanging clset organizer

<AndreaFL> BC, I use the plastic office files that are stackable

<Jambalaya> Stubby Stampers carries Perfect Ink Refresher

<wezz> suh, papers is another struggle

<wezz> duh

<miles> Thanks

<Jambalaya> i have paper under control

<AndreaFL> and I keep different types in different files

<Beezy> i hang in my closet which helps keep paper in good shape

<BlackCats> I HAVE CATS SO OPEN SYSTEMS DON'T WORK FOR ME

<Jambalaya> i have 3 four drawer file cabinets with hanging files

<cak> I really want to store them flat, so I've gto a couple of literature sorters, but that's not enough (sorted by color, 'cause that's how I think--I need black, etc)

<Beezy> unless my cats go closet climbing!

<Beezy> LOL Black

<AndreaFL> of course, that isn't including the bag I still have from last year from Marcos paper which is still sitting next to my workbench....

<BlackCats> YEAH, I'D LIKE TO STORE FLAT BUT THAT WOULDN'T WORK FOR ME

<cak> oh yeah, parent sheet on a skirt hanger

<BlackCats> RIGHT NOW I HAVE A TWO DRAWER FILING CABINET WITH HANGING FILES

<Beezy> the closet hanger is sturdy and strong

<Jambalaya> and if you don't have enough paper to make the hanging files stay tight? YOU NEED MORE PAPER

<AndreaFL> LOL

<wezz> most of mine are stored flat, but not by color (yet), just by size.

<BlackCats> BUT SOME PAPERS, LIKE TISSUES AND VELLUM, DON'T LIKE THAT SYSTEM

<cak> lol--perfect excuse!

<BlackCats> LOL, JAM

<wezz> that does leave me with the irregular sizes that I don't know how to store properly

<BlackCats> OH, YEAH, THAT ONE IS A BEAR

<BlackCats> BUT THERE AGAIN THAT'S WHAT IS USE THE PHOTO ORGANIZERS FOR

<cak> the leftovers from cutting a paper up, etc. Jamba, how do you handle those scrappy kinds of papers?

<AndreaFL> I have a display case rotates, has several shelves on each side, good space for the things that don't go with the horizontal files

<MonkeyMom> mine are rolled up and unofficially labeled "collage"

<anno> I have a 5 drawer flat file that I use for the big papers..

<anno> and my mounted stamps.

<MonkeyMom> MM is jealous

<BlackCats> OOOH, LUCKY, ANNO

<cak> anno, that's heaven

<Tarotmama> anno, please adopt me

<AndreaFL> rofl

<MonkeyMom> *very jealous

<anno> not when those drawers land on your toes. :P

<Beezy> Anno thats the mercedes

<wezz> mm, yeah, but I have both european sized paper (what I use mostly) and US sized cardstock that I can use in swaps that require exact measurements

<BlackCats> MY PARENT SHEETS ARE AS HIGH AS I CAN GET THEM, ROLLED UP

<miles> I need to go my company has arrived
