<Vaughnde> hi Cak
<cak> hi
<Redstick> I learned how to make "collage" necklaces/bracelets and I'm in heaven!
<BlackCats> HI EVERYONE
<BlackCats> WELCOME!
<CindyC> ooooo
<Vaughnde> oh my goodness
<CindyC> i wanna see
<BlackCats> WE'LL START CLASS ABOUT 9:05
<Lavender> Red are the "collage" necklaces/bracelets done with your beading?
<Vaughnde> hi Anno
* Redstick points to the top of the list... and it's ALL Jam's fault! :)
<Jambalaya> i didn't do it
<Vaughnde> what??
<Jambalaya> what did i do?
<sber> Red where did you learn the collage jewelry? and were can I see some??
<Redstick> Yes, Lavender, you use a focal point and then little doo-dads.. around it then fill in with seed beads
<Lavender> Oh sounds really lovely.
<Redstick> Jam took me to a bead show!!
<Jambalaya> lol
<Jambalaya> true
<Vaughnde> ah now that explains it!
<Jambalaya> i dragged her kicking and screaming
<Vaughnde> lol
<Lavender> I bet!
<Redstick> and the seed beads are all wishywashy... makes a kewl effect!
<cak> oh yeah, when you wanted to go home?
<Julie> Can't wait to see your creations Red
<cak> (the kicking and screaming)
<Redstick> BRB
<Lavender> Seed beads come in such a wide range of colors, I know they look really kewl.
<sber> I wanna see some. guess I'll do a google and see if I can find any
<Vaughnde> lol
<Vaughnde> seed beads with lace and sticky tape is wonderful too
<BlackCats> Y'ALL JUST ABOUT READY TO START?
<Lavender> yes
<keribou> YES
<Vaughnde> yeah was wondering if everybody went to sleep
<BlackCats> LOL

<BlackCats> YES, I HEAR THE OMINOUS RUMBLE OF THUNDER
<Redstick> Yes yes yes!!
<BlackCats> WELCOME, EVERYONE. I'D LIKE TO THANK ENCHANTED INK, THE SPONSOR FOR TONIGHT'S CLASS. THIS CLASS HAS SEVERAL STEPS SO PLEASE WAIT TO ASK QUESTIONS UNTIL I ASK FOR THEM.

<CindyC> yw
<BlackCats> TY, TY
<Vaughnde> its awsome!
<BlackCats> PICTURE 1 SHOWS THE COVER OF THE POCKET PAGE BOOK. I'LL GO
OVER THE MAKING OF THIS LATER. THE THEME FOR THIS BOOK IS SEASONAL FAIRIES.
I PICKED COLORS THAT REMINDED ME OF THE SEASONS.
<BlackCats> TY
<pmstamper> this looks lovely, BC, wow
<BlackCats> THANKS
<Lynn> very cool
<cherub78> I'm sorry- I have to go pretend I have been doing housework or something so I look busy when my husband gets home...nite all!
<BlackCats> NITE CHERUB
<CindyC> put onions cooking in the over
<Vaughnde> nite cherub
<Phyl> nite cherub
<Vaughnde> lol cindy
<Lavender> nite Cherub
<CindyC> oven makes em think you been cooking... heh
<BlackCats> PICTURE 2 SHOWS THE POCKET PAGE. YOU WILL NEED 4 PIECES OF CARDSTOCK MEASURING 5X10". FOLD THIS TO FORM A 5X5" CARD. HOLD THE RIGHT TOP CORNER OF THE FRONT AND FOLD DOWN AS SHOWN. HOLD YOUR INDEX FINGER ON THE LEFT TOP CORNER OF YOUR CARD WHILE FOLDING SO AS TO GET THE SPACING CONSISTENT WITH ALL POCKET PAGES. CREASE FOLD LINE.
<BlackCats> http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<CindyC> http://tinyurl.com/dgug5
<BlackCats> QUESTIONS SO FAR?
<CindyC> very cool
<CindyC> http://tinyurl.com/dgug5
<Jambalaya> http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> TY
<BlackCats> NO QUESTIONS? THIS IS REALLY PRETTY EASY
<CindyC> it is perfectly lovely
<Jambalaya> you explained it so well
<BlackCats> WB CATA
<BlackCats> TY
<BlackCats> USE REDLINER TAPE OR OTHER DOUBLE SIDED TAPE ALONG BOTTOM INSIDE EDGE OF CARD AND ALONG SHORT RIGHT SIDE EDGE TO FORM THE POCKET.
<BlackCats> MARK THE CENTER POINT AND ABOUT 1/2"IN FROM TOP AND BOTTOM ALONG THE FOLD LINE OF YOUR CARD. PUNCH HOLES AND INSERT EYELETS AS SHOWN. THE EYELETS I USED HERE WERE A BRIGHT YELLOW WHICH I FOUND TO BRIGHT. I DABBED LUMIERE METALLIC BRONZE ON THEM TO TONE THEM DOWN.
<BlackCats> WITH ME SO FAR?
<Vaughnde> yes sorta
<Phyl> sure am
<Phyl> very clear
<BlackCats> GOOD
<BlackCats> COMPUTER GENERATE THE SEASON NAMES ON CREAM CARDSTOCK. EDGE WITH GOLD PEN SUCH AS KRYLON LEAF PEN. I USED MARVY METALLICS. ADHERE TO FLAP AS SHOWN. PLACE POP-DOT UNDER CORNER OF FLAP.
<BlackCats> http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE 4 POCKETS THIS WAY FOR THIS PROJECT. HOWEVER, YOU CAN MAKE AS MANY OR FEW POCKET PAGES AS YOU WISH AND WHATEVER YOUR CHOSEN THEME DICTATES
<Vaughnde> cool
<BlackCats> THANKS
<BlackCats> ANY QUESTIONS?
<Phyl> why the pop dot?
<Lynn> not yet
<Vaughnde> not yet
<cak> so far, so good
<BlackCats> SO THAT THE FLAP IS A BIT PROUD ON THE POCKET
<Phyl> ah ok got it
<BlackCats> JUST ADDS A BIT OF OOOMPH
<Phyl> ty
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> THE SHADOW SHOWS UP THE POCKET BETTER THAT WAY
<Phyl> good thinking
<BlackCats> IF YOU WANTED YOU COULD USE A GOLD LEAF PEN TO EDGE ALONG THE FLAP TO ADD MORE INTEREST
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> PICTURES 3 THRU 6 SHOW THE POCKET INSERTS. I STAMPED THE 4 SEASON FAIRIES ON WHITE CARDSTOCK USING BRILLIANCE GRAPHITE BLACK AND IRRIDESCENT SPARKLE EMBOSSING POWDER. THE SKIN TONE OF THE FAIRIES IS DONE WITH RADIANT PEARLS ANGEL FACE. THE REST IS PAINTED WITH TWINKLING H2O'S.
<Phyl> nice painting on those
<BlackCats> BY THE WAY, A LITTLE FAIRY WHISPERED IN MY EAR
<dauber> Great job
<Vaughnde> what is the difference between radiant pearls and twinkling h20's?
<CindyC> give to cindyc?
<Lynn> how exciting!
<BlackCats> I BELIEVE REDSTICK HAS A SURPRISE FOR US AT THE END OF THE CLASS
<Vaughnde> cool
<BlackCats> TY
<Lynn> wooo hooo
<Phyl> kewl
<CindyC> woohoo!
<paintingc> praise be the angels the book is a deight!
<BlackCats> RADIANT PEARLS AND THE TWINKIES ARE MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY
<sber> :) fun!
<BlackCats> TY
<BlackCats> RADIANT PEARLS IS A LIQUID PAINT AND DRIES SLOWLY
<Phyl> radiant pearls are an oil base and twinklers are water based
<Vaughnde> right
<BlackCats> TWINKLING H2O'S ARE LIKE WATERCOLORS
<Vaughnde> oh ok
<Vaughnde> I have the radiant pearls
<BlackCats> THEY ARE IN LITTLE JARS AND YOU USE A WATERPEN OR PAINTBRUSH
<BlackCats> ADD WATER AND PAINT
<Vaughnde> so if I wanted a faster drying sparkle I need the Twinkling h20's
<BlackCats> THEY BOTH HAVE A GOOD SHIMMER TO THEM
<BlackCats> YES
<BlackCats> NOW, CONFESSION HERE
<Vaughnde> ok thanks for the clarification
<Phyl> all eyes
<Vaughnde> all ears
<BlackCats> I MADE A MISTAKE AND BROKE ONE OF MY CARDINAL RULES
<Phyl> oh oh
<Lynn> ooooooooooooooh
<sber> oh my!
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> I ALWAYS (EXCEPT THIS TIME, LOL) USE WORKABLE FIXATIVE ON MY WORKS
<BlackCats> BUT THIS TIME I JUST FORGOT FOR SOME REASON
<paintingc> ohah
<Phyl> thirty lashes with the old wet noodle
<Jambalaya> i'm telling
<BlackCats> AFTER THE PAINTED FAIRIES WERE DRY I ADDED INTERFERENCE H2O'S ALL OVER THE BACKGROUNDS
<BlackCats> AND A COUPLE OF PLACES THERE WAS A BIT OF BLEEDING
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> SO REMEMBER, USE WORKABLE FIXATIVE BETWEEN STEPS
<CindyC> proof that it is homemade and not a copy grin
<paintingc> what is a workable fixitive?
<Lavender> BC did the colors bleed even after they were dry?
<BlackCats> YES, LAV
<BlackCats> PAINTINGC, THAT IS SOMETHING YOU CAN GET IN THE PAINTS, SEALER SECTION OF STORES SUCH AS MICHAEL'S
<BlackCats> WHEN THEY WERE DRY I USED EVOLVING IMAGES' SQUARE 4' TEMPLATE TO CENTER OVER IMAGES, MARK THE EDGES WITH A VANISHING INK PEN, AND CUT OUT. I THEN USED A DECKLE BLADE TO CLOSELY TRIM THE EDGES. THEY WERE THEN MOUNTED ONTO 4 1/8" SQUARES OF BLACK CARDSTOCK. PUNCH A 1/8" HOLE IN UPPER RIGHT CORNER AND ATTACH SHORT FIBERS OR RIBBON.
<BlackCats> HI AMY
<BlackCats> WELCOME
<amy> hi
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<amy> ty
<BlackCats> ANY QUESTIONS?
<Phyl> vanishing Ink pen?
<Jambalaya> find vanishing pen in sewing dept any craft store
<BlackCats> I'M GOING A BIT FAST HERE BECAUSE WE HAVE THUNDERSTORMS NEARBY
<Phyl> bought where?
<BlackCats> YOU CAN GET THAT IN THE SEWING NOTIONS OF MOST STORES
<BlackCats> THINK I GOT MINE AT WALMART
<Phyl> ah uncharted territory for me
<BlackCats> LOL
<Phyl> k will check thanks
<BlackCats> AND I'VE EVEN SEEN THEM IN SCRAPBOOK STORES LATELY
<Vaughnde> oh the kind you use for quilting
<BlackCats> YES
<BlackCats> ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?
<BlackCats> WITH ME SO FAR?
<Vaughnde> goes on purple and then vanishes after a certain time
<Vaughnde> yep
<Phyl> yup
<BlackCats> YES
<BlackCats> PICTURES 7 THRU 10 SHOW THE POCKETS WITH THEIR INSERTS. ANOTHER IDEA FOR THESE POCKETS WOULD BE TO STAMP, PRINT OR USE STICKER SENTIMENTS APPROPRIATE TO THAT POCKET PAGE'S SEASON ONTO TAGS IN ADDITION TO THE INSERTS.
<BlackCats> I USED ENCHANTED INK'S MARBLED TISSUE PAPER FOR THE COVERS. THE SCAN DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO CONVEY HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS PAPER IS! IT COMES IN A COUPLE OF GOOD SELECTIONS AND IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE. THIS IS THE KIND OF PAPER YOU SAVE EVERY SCRAP AND USE IT FOR COVERING CHEAP BEADS AND OTHER OBJECTS. REDSTICK DID A CLASS RECENTLY ON THIS TOPIC SO CHECK THE LOGS FOR THAT CLASS.
<Vaughnde> I love her papers too!
<BlackCats> YES, THEY ARE JUST ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
<Vaughnde> still have some from about 8-9 years ago
<Redstick> ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
<Lynn> i had to buy some more so I wouldn't have to hoard anymore
<BlackCats> LOL, USE THOSE UP AND GET MORE
<Vaughnde> lol
<BlackCats> SHE HAS SOME NEW COLORS NOW
<Vaughnde> ok I'll check it out
<Phyl> better than ever
<Jambalaya> uhtoh, y'all gonna get it now
<Vaughnde> they are almost gone anyway Candace
<BlackCats> TO MAKE THE COVERS CUT 2 PIECES OF BOOKBOARD OR CARDBOARD 5 1/8 x 5 1/8". CUT 2 PIECES OF TISSUE PAPER TO MEASURE 5 3/8" SQUARE FOR THE FRONT AND BACK OUTSIDE COVERS. COVER BOOKBOARD WITH GLUE STICK AND ADHERE SHEET OF TISSUE. TURN BOOKBOARD OVER, PLACE GLUE ALONG EDGES AND FOLD OVER EXTRA TISSUE. CUT 2 PIECES OF TISSUE 5X5". PLACE GLUE ALL OVER INSIDE OF COVERS AND ADHERE TISSUE.
<Vaughnde> lol lynn
<Lynn> :)
<Redstick> alwaysalways!!!!!!! take the sheet and tear in 1/2.....hoard 1/2 if you HAVE to and USE the other 1/2!!!
<Vaughnde> lol
<BlackCats> THAT MAKE SENSE?
<Vaughnde> do you still have it on stickyback papers?
<Vaughnde> yes bc
<Phyl> yes makes sense
<BlackCats> YOU WANT IT SO BOTH SIDE ARE COMPLETELY COVERED
<BlackCats> QUESTIONS?
<Vaughnde> nope
<Vaughnde> methinks I'm gonna use some tonight on ATC's
<BlackCats> WHAT, VAUGHNDE?
<BlackCats> GOT A QUESTION?
<Vaughnde> yeah
<BlackCats> WHAT?
<Vaughnde> when candace first came out with the papers they were sticky and you peeled them off a sheet
<Vaughnde> does she still have those kind?
<BlackCats> OIC
<BlackCats> I DON'T KNOW
<Redstick> nope...it was just Xyroned
<Vaughnde> ok
<BlackCats> MINE WASN'T ON STICKY PAPER
<StampaDee> run em through a zyron
<Lavender> BC did you use the same fiber on all the pages?
<Vaughnde> ah ok
<BlackCats> YES
<Vaughnde> don't own a xyron
<Lavender> TY
<StampaDee> bummer
<Vaughnde> so doublestick tape will do it
<BlackCats> IT IS A VARIGATED RIBBON
<BlackCats> OUR USE GLUESTICK
<Lavender> Very pretty accent to the pages
<BlackCats> THAT'S WHAT I USED HERE
<BlackCats> TY
<Vaughnde> or the YES glue
<Vaughnde> just got a big jar
<BlackCats> DRY GLUE WOULD WORK BETTER IMHO
<Vaughnde> ok
<BlackCats> THIS TISSUE TEARS EASILY WHEN WET
<Vaughnde> ok thanks for letting me know
<BlackCats> AND IT DOESN'T COME OFF XYRON SHEETS WELL EITHER
<Julie> BC, on the Fixative--did you mean that you sprayed it after coloring the image so you could use the irridescent for the background?
<BlackCats> ONE THING I DO IS TAKE SCRAP CS, RUN IT THRU THE XYRON, THEN ADD THE TISSUE
<BlackCats> YES, JULIE
<Vaughnde> cool idea
<Julie> thanks
<BlackCats> I USUALLY DO THAT BETWEEN STEPS SUCH AS THIS
<BlackCats> THAT HELPS AVOID SMUDGES AND SMEARS TOO
<Julie> Now I know what to do with that can that is here :)
<BlackCats> GOOD
<BlackCats> QUESTIONS?
<Lavender> Have you tried embossing with black ink before painting to keep it from running?
<BlackCats> YES, I DID THAT HERE
<BlackCats> BUT WHEN YOU TOUCH THE WET BRUSH TO THE DRIED PAINT IT REACTIVATES THE PAINT
<Lavender> Better use the fixative then.
<BlackCats> YEP
<BlackCats> NOW YOU HAVE ALL YOUR PIECES OF THE BOOK READY FOR ASSEMBLY. LAY ALL YOUR PAGES TOGETHER, MAKING SURE EVERYTHING IS IN ORDER, RIGHT SIDE UP, AND THAT YOU HAVE THE INSIDES OF BOTH COVERS FACING INSIDE.
<BlackCats> THAT'S A VERY IMPORTANT STEP FOR PROJECTS LIKE THIS
<BlackCats> NOTHING WORSE THAN TO GET DONE AND FIND YOU HAVE A PAGE UPSIDE DOWN OR BACKWARDS <g>
<BlackCats> THREAD RIBBON ONTO RIBBON NEEDLE AND TIE KNOT IN END. THREAD RIBBON THRU ALL THE TOP EYELETS, STARTING FROM THE BACK COVER AND GOING THRU THE FRONT COVER. HAVE THE 1ST BEAD SO THAT IT IS A BIT LOOSE, NOT PULLED TAUT AGAINST THE BACK COVER, ABOUT 1/2" BETWEEN COVER AND BEAD.
<BlackCats> QUESTIONS?
<BlackCats> HELLO?
<Jambalaya> thats such a cool look
<BlackCats> AM I STILL HERE?
<Jambalaya> yes
<Julie> we're with ya
<BlackCats> TY
<BlackCats> AH, SCARED ME FOR A MINUTE THERE, LOL
<Phyl> lol you are to good Monica
<sber> yup!
<BlackCats> LOL, TY
<Jambalaya> class samples are here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=7275022&uid=1026244
<BlackCats> LOOP YOUR NEEDLE THRU A RIBBON CIRCLE TO FORM A KNOT, AGAIN LEAVING SOME SLACK. ADD ANOTHER BEAD, THEN ANOTHER KNOT. TIE THE 2 BEADS TOGETHER TO FORM ONE LOOSE TIE. REPEAT FOR OTHER 2 EYELETS.
<Froggie> I'm still here too, we are just listening and being good
<BlackCats> AH, THANKS
<Lavender> Each eyelet is done seperate right?
<BlackCats> I'M SORRY TO BE RUSHING HERE BUT WANT TO FINISH IN CASE THIS STORM KNOCKS MY POWER OUT
<Phyl> yup we are all being nice little girls
<Phyl> you are doing good
<BlackCats> UH, WASN'T SURE HOW TO WORD THAT SO IT MADE SENSE
<BlackCats> YOU HAVE 6 EYELETS IN 3 ROWS
<Jambalaya> makes sense to me
<Vaughnde> where are you that there is a huge storm there?
<BlackCats> DO ONE ROW ALL TOGETHER
<BlackCats> THEN DO THE OTHER TWO ROWS THE SAME WAY
<BlackCats> YES, VAUGHNDE
<BlackCats> AND GOT A BIT OF FLOODING TOO
<BlackCats> THAT MAKE SENSE, LAVENDER?
<Vaughnde> yeeks sounds like texas to me
<BlackCats> NORTHEAST TN MOUNTAINS
<Vaughnde> ah yeah
<Lavender> yes
<BlackCats> NOTE; BE SURE TO LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK IN THIS RIBBON, BEAD AND KNOT BINDING SO THAT YOUR PAGES WILL TURN EASILY.
<cak> Do you test it to make sure BC?
<BlackCats> I CAN'T STRESS THAT STRONGLY ENOUGH
<BlackCats> YES, AS I'M THREADING IT I KEEP MOVING THE PAGES BACK AND FORTH TO MAKE SURE THEY MOVE EASILY
<BlackCats> BUT AREN'T SO SLACK THEY ARE SLOPPY
<dauber> TY - great project. Got to go now, bye all
<BlackCats> NITE DAUBER
<Phyl> bye dauber
<BlackCats> THANKS FOR COMING
<cak> night dauber
<BlackCats> NOTE; BE SURE TO LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK IN THIS RIBBON, BEAD AND KNOT BINDING SO THAT YOUR PAGES WILL TURN EASILY.
<BlackCats> OOPS, SORRY
<cak> I guess it bore repeating
<Lynn> :)
<BlackCats> COMPUTER GENERATE SAYING FOR COVER ON VELLUM. ADHERE TO COVER. ADD REDLINER TAPE ALONG ALL 4 SIDES OF SAYING AND ATTACH RIBBON. I STARTED THE RIBBON IN THE MIDDLE RIGHT SIDE AND ENDED THERE, THEN ADDED A LEAF CHARM WITH A GLUE DOT.
<BlackCats> LOL, CAK
<Lavender> gives me more time to write it down.
<BlackCats> LOL
<Phyl> Beautiful work Monica
<BlackCats> DON'T FORGET THAT ALL CLASSES ARE LOGGED
<StampaDee> do you make the last knot after you tie the two beads together?
<Lavender> okay
<BlackCats> THEY'LL BE POSTED AS SOON AS OUR MASTER LOGGER, MS CAK, CAN GET THEM UP
<BlackCats> NO, DEE
<BlackCats> I JUST MADE ONE KNOT
<BlackCats> NOT A SQUARE KNOT
